<br />"... 580 <br /> <br />z. <br /> <br />:- c;.. <br />:n;:_ <br />'~ <br /> <br />An ordinance for the construction of a sewer, as follows: commencing at <br />the rear of the dwelling in-approximately the center of Lot I, Block 27, Chula Vista <br />Park, Second Addition, to Eugene, Lane County, Or.egon, and running thence west <br />across Lots 1, 2, and 3, to the alley and connecting with the main sewer, running no th <br />and south through Block 27, in the city of ~ugene, Oregon,~as read the first time <br />and passed to its second and third readings by title under suspension of the rule <br />by unanimous consent of the council and was placed on its final passage. The ayes <br />and nays were called, councilmen voting aye, Lamb, Hendershott, heid, Bond, Carlson, <br />Hanns, Page and Farrington; nay, none; absent, none. The ordinance was declared <br />passed and numbered 8506. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />35 <br /> <br />It was pointed out that construction of the sewer could not be commenced <br />unless the property owners affected by the proposed improvement paid cash for said <br />36 improvement. <br /> <br />The City Hecorder presented the audit for the year 1936 completed by C. A. <br />i Horton, accountant. Upon motion made and seconded and duly carried the report was <br />37 unanimously approved. <br />f <br /> <br />Councilman Hendershott recommended that the office of the City Engineer tak <br />charge of the rentals due the city of ~ugene and upon motion made and seconded the <br />38 recommendat.iori was approved. <br /> <br />.' <br />'\:- <br /> <br />The problem of an increase in rental from bchool District #4 whose offices <br />,39 are located in the city hall building was left in the hands of the Finance Committee. <br /> <br />The City Recorder reported that Harold banders, manager of the municipal <br />airport, was in arrears in making payments of his monthly rental and the matter was <br />.40 referred to the !:"inance Commi ttee for consideration. <br /> <br />No action resulted in councilman Bondis request for the possib.le employment <br />41 of a dog catcher for 1937. <br />, <br /> <br />It was moved and seconded that pin and ball licenses be issued for the 2nd <br />quarter beginning April 1, 1937. It was made ~lear that should the btate take steps <br />to ban the operation of such machines, that the machine owners will have no refund. <br />Mr. Ivan Ware, distributor of pin and ball machines, stated that such an arrangement <br />would be entirely satisfactory. <br />I <br /> <br />Upon motion made and seconded the meeting was adjourned to meet March 22, <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />42 <br />, <br /> <br />~3 1937. <br /> <br />c.
