Rodman was presented asking for a segregation of assess- <br />ments on the E 50 feet of Lot 7 and the East 50 feet of the North 20 feet of Lot 8, <br />Block 7, College Hill Park Addition. Engineer Clubb reported that the value of the <br />remaining property was such that segregation was in order. The request of Mr. Rodma <br />was granted. <br /> <br />/' 28 <br /> <br />Referred to the Judiciary Committee was the request of the Lane County Court, <br />by Fred Fisk, Judge, to nullify the interest charges on assessments on sewer between <br />uak and Pearl Streets, Mulligan's Donation and ~kinner's Donation, Public Squares. <br />The original assessment on October 16, 1903 was ~~113.28 and the interest to April 1, <br />1937 is $227.41, making a total payment due of $340.69. The Court is willing to pay <br />the original assessment of $113.28 but does not think it just and proper that they <br />be compelled to pay the interest. <br /> <br />. Letter 'from Frederick D. Stricker, ~tate Health Officer, requesting the in- <br />stallation of a vacuum breaker on the flush valve on the new toilet combination in <br />, 29 the men's rest room at the Rest Cottage, was referred to the ~ewer Committee. <br /> <br />Letter from Henry T. Gallagher, patrolman on the city of ~ugene Police De- <br />partment, petitioning the council for a period of one year leave of absence, without <br />pay, commencing April 12, 1937, was presented and approved. Resolution granting <br />the leave and authorizing the Kecorder to transmit B copy thereof to the Civil <br />Service Commission was duly adopted. The Recorder was likewise instructed to obtain <br />a list of eligibles from the Commission for appointment to the vacancy. The re- <br />(30 solution is as follows: <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />WHEREAS, application has heretofore been made by Henry Gall~gher <br /> <br /> <br />for a leave of absence for one year, commencing April 12, 1937, <br /> <br />said application bearing the recommendation of the Chief .of Police, <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />It appearing to the council that the said Henry Gallagher is quali- <br /> <br />fied under civil service rules to receive a leave of absence for <br /> <br />one year, <br /> <br />Therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of ~ugene that <br /> <br />Henry Gallagher be and he is hereby granted a leave of absence for <br /> <br />one year, commencing April 12, 1937, and the Recorder is rereby <br />directed to transmit one copy of this Resolution, together with the <br /> <br />application to the Civil ~ervice Commission. <br /> <br />131 <br /> <br />Upon motion made and seconded, the council authorized refund of overpayments <br />made by the Home Owners' Loan Assoc ia t ion on property belong! ne; to -H.
