<br /> ~ <br /> 9 <br /> , ' '. ,'... ~ < <br />~ -- - ~ -- <br /> An ordinance amending Ordinance No. 7753 entitled "An ordinance prohibiting <br /> the cutting of curbs in the City of Eugene, Oregon, etc." on the west side of <br />I Charnelton Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenues West for McCracken Brothers, had <br /> its first reading and passed to its second and third readings by unanimous consent <br /> of the council by title under suspension of the rule and was placed for final pas- <br /> sage. The ayes and nays were called; 'counci lmen voting aye, Lamb, Hendershott, ':',. <br /> Page, Hanns, Farrington, Bond and Carlson; nay, none; absent, .Reid. The. ordinan ce ~ <br /> 30 was declared passed and numbered 8524. <br /> I <br /> The council granted authority to cancel the following General Warrants: <br /> #32021 F. E~ Harris, January 10, 1929, $76.92; #33649 issued to C. McL~ughlin, <br /> /31 November 30, 1929, 10.00 #39927 issued to P. Veek, July 31, 1933 for $2.00. <br />I . . <br /> Application of Merle Short to operate a rooming house known as the New York <br /> Rooms at 571 Willamette Street was approved by C. F. Bergman, Chief of Police, <br /> , 32 and this action was sustained by the council. <br /> / <br /> Application'to rebond delinquent assessment in the amount of $97.23, was upon <br /> 33 motion made and se~onded, duly approved. <br />/ <br /> - Petition from Ethel S. Vaughn requesting that she be allowed to pay the city <br /> liens on the South 55 feet of Lot 6, Block 8, Croner's A4~ition to Eugene in instal _ <br /> ments over a period of about five years in monthly payments of not more than $20~00 <br /> to cover the principal and interest, with an initial down payment of $100.00 was <br /> 134 upon motion made and seconded, referred 'to the Finance Committee for study. <br /> Councilman Page requested the a~vertisement of new bids for fencing the deer <br /> and elk corrals in Kendrick's Park. The City Recorder with the assistance of the <br /> City Engineer, was instructed to prepare the news item calling for the bids, which <br /> V35 are to be opened at the next council meeting, November 8, 1937. <br /> Upon motion made and seconded, the Health Committee was granted authority to <br /> remove the barn located on Clark Street between Madison and Monroe, which in ac- <br /> 36 cordance with the report given to Councilman Bond was in no condition .to remain on <br /> the premises. <br /> I 37 Upon motion made and duly seconded, the meeting was adjourned. <br />, <br /> C.
