<br /> Councilman Reid, Chairman of the Sewer Committee, reported regarding the sewer
<br /> at the new Post Office Building and stated that arrangements had been made with the

<br /> which would be the south line of the new Post Office Building and it was moved and
<br /> /14 seconded that the city should build the remaining 27 feet and this was approved.
<br /> I Relative to the request of C. Valentine Boyer, president of the University of
<br /> Oregon, Sam C. Bond, chairman of the Police Committee, reported that the Police De-
<br /> ./ partment had no available men that they could assign to the university district,
<br /> permanently, but that traffic officers had been instructed to patrol the vicinity as

<br /> Police Chairman Bond reported regarding quiet signs for the Eugene Hospital an
<br /> ./ Clinic and said as soon as the rains let up that they would endeavor to paint suit-
<br /> 16 able signs for the hospital.
<br /> Reporting on the anti-picketing situation, Mayor Large stated that the Supreme
<br /> ./ Court had agreed to pass on the LaGuardia-Norris law;as soon as a decision on that
<br /> is reached, the council would be in a better position to know what to do for the
<br /> 17 city of Eugene.

<br /> Mayor Large reported that he together with Engineer Clubb had discussed this matter
<br /> :-z; with Lane County and the offers had been rejected. It was therefore riot necessary
<br /> for the city to pay the taxes.

<br /> WHEREAS, The City of Eugene has caused the same to be appraised
<br /> and determined its value, and
<br /> I V:HEREAS, Ed Howell has offered the city $124.49 for said property,
<br /> which, according to the appraisement, is all that the property is
<br /> worth,
<br /> NOW, THEREFORE
<br /> BElT RESOLVED by the Cow~on Council of the City of Eugene that the
<br /> Mayor and Recorder be and they are hereby directed to~enter into the
<br /> annexed contract on behalf of the City of Eugene, and the $41.01 down
<br /> payment and all subsequent payments shall be deposited with the City.
