<br /> 23~ <br /> -, <br /> Letter from Frederick Stricker, State Health Officer, notifying the council <br /> that the State Board will commence November 30 to complete a survey of the milk <br /> Z6 supply of the city, was read and ordered filed. <br /> I f'~, <br />I Resolution from Santa Clara Grange #746 opposing licensing of pinball machine ~ '5-( <br /> (27 was read and ordered tabled. <br /> Resolution from the Parent-Teacher Association voicing disapproval of further <br /> I 28 licensing of pinball machines was read and ordered filed. <br /> Reports'from the Police, Fire and City Engineer Departments for the month of <br /> 29 November, 1937r were presented and orderea fil~d. <br />1 Letter from the City Lien Department requesting authorization to accept a <br /> check tendered to the city by W. J; Lichty in the sum of $122.77 in payment of <br /> liens on the West 80 feet of Lot 7, Block 4, Christian's Addition, was referred to <br /> the City Attorney and Judiciary Committee with power to act. It was pointed out <br /> that the city foreclosed this property under the name of Alice Lynn, mother of Mrs. <br /> Lichty. Mrs. Lynn has since passed away and Mr. Lichty bas a deed to ,the property <br /> ! 30 but as yet unfiled. <br /> Application for Second-Hand Dealers license to Herman Halfs at 628 ~'illamette <br /> Street was approved by the Chief of Police and this recommendation sustained by <br /> 31 the council. ,."... <br /> I' <br /> " The City Recorder stated that gasoline contracts with the city expire <br /> January II, 1938, and asked that he be authorized to secure bids for the year 193 . <br /> The Recorder was instructed to contact gasoline companies and ask them to submit <br /> 132 bids to be opened at the meeting of the coUncil on January 10, 1938. <br /> Councilman Hanns, chairman of the Fire and Water Committee, requested with- <br /> drawal from the emergency fund money for 1000 feet of 2i" hose and 400 feet of Ii" <br /> hose and the motion was seconded that orders be placed. The ayes and,nays were <br /> called; councilmen voting aye; Reid, Page, Hanns, Farrington; nay, Lamb, Hendershot , <br /> /33 Bond; absent, Carlson. The motion was carried. <br /> Relative to Coupon #13 on Bond #118 of City of Eugene, Power and Light Bonds, <br />I dated April 1, 1931, claimed lost, it was agreed that the matter be referred to the <br /> 34 Judiciary Committee and City Attorney with power to act. <br /> I <br /> There being no further business, the meeting was herewith adjourned until <br /> December 27r 1937, the last meeting of the year. <br /> C .
