E. <br />corner of the S. 35.2 feet of Lot 2, Block 22 in Fairmount, now a part,of the City <br />of Eugene, Lane County, Oregon, according to the original plat thereof, and running <br />thence West 96 feet; thence South 50 feet; thence East to the ~est line of said <br />Fairmount Boulevard in said City, and thence following the West line of said Fair- <br />mount Boulevard northerly to the place of beginning',11 and which driveway encroaches <br />to a small extent on the land owned by the city, was referred to the Judiciary <br />Committee and City Attorney. <br /> <br />Communication from Donald M. Erb extending his appreciation to the council <br />for their word of welcome to the neWly-appointed president of the University of <br />Oregon, was read and ordered filed. <br /> <br />Request of O.H. Bray to be allowed to wreck the service station and apart- <br />mBnt building located at the SE corner of the intersection of High Street Bnd 3rd <br />Avenue east and to rebuild the service station and extend the present tire repair <br />shop, the latter building to be frame construction with stucco walls on the east <br />and south, was granted by the Board of Appeals and this action: sustained by the <br />council. <br /> <br />Letter from E. C. Husby requesting permission to enlarge his service sta- <br />tion and grocery store located at 290 Thirteenth Avenue East, was granted by the <br />Board of Appeals on the condition that the construction be subject to the approval <br />of the ~ngineer's Department and this action was sustained by the council. <br /> <br />Request of Sher Khan for permission to build a temporary structure on the <br />north sid~ of his building located at 642 Oak Street was granted by the Board of <br />Appeals on the condition that the construction is approved by the Engineer's Depart <br />ment and the permit be limited to two years. This action was accepted by the coun- <br />cil. <br /> <br />35 <br /> <br />Reports for the month of March were received from the Engineer, Police and <br />Fire Departments and were ordered filed. <br /> <br />Resolution authorizing the Mayor and Recorder to execute a deed on behalf <br />Bf Dr. E. E. Gray, was upon motion made and seconded, duly adopted~ <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The City of Eugene has acquired the West 55 feet <br />of Lots 5 and 6, Block 24, Gross Addition to ~ugene, Lane <br />County, Oregon, and <br /> <br />~HEREAS, the City of Eugene has caused the same to be ap- <br />praised and determined its value, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Dr. Edward E. Gray has offered the City $650.,00 <br />for said property, which according to the appraisement is <br />all that the property is worth, <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED, By the Common Council of the City of Eugene <br />that the Mayor and Recorder be and they are hereby directed <br />to execute a bargain and sale deed to Cr. Edward E. Gray for <br />the above described property and to accept in payment there- <br />for the sum of $650.00. <br /> <br />~ <br />
