<br />Axland, a good sufficient deed of conveyance to the above

<br />Resolution authorizing the Mayor and Recorder to execute a deed on behalf
<br />(39 of Mrs. R.A. Babb (Lola F. Babb), was upon motion made and seconded, duly adopted:

<br />WHEREAS, The City of Eugene has acquired the following described
<br />property, to-wit:
<br />
<br />"~eginning at a point on the South line of Fairmount
<br />Doulevard as laid out and platted in the City of
<br />Eugene, Oregon, said point being 81.4 feet West of
<br />the West line of Orchard Street, if extended South,
<br />said point being the Northeast corner of a tract of
<br />land owned by G.B. McLaren; running thence South
<br />parallel to the West line of Orchard Street, if ex-
<br />tended South, 160 feet; thence Easterly parallel to
<br />the South line of said Fairmount Boulevard and 160
<br />feet therefrom a distance of 256.20 feet to the
<br />Westerly line of a 30-foot road as now established
<br />on the ground, thence Northwesterly along the West-
<br />erly line of said road 170.9 feet to a point on the
<br />South line of Fairmount Boulevard 160.2 feet Easterly
<br />from the place of beginning, thence Westerly along
<br />the South line of said Fairmount Boulevard 160.2
<br />feet to the place of beginning. Being a part of Lots
<br />2 and 3, Block 28, Fairmount, now a part of the City
<br />of Eugene, I~ and

<br />WHEREAS, The City of Eugene has caused the same to be appraised
<br />and determined its value and
<br />
<br />~HEREAS, Lola F. Babb has offered the City $2000.00 for said
<br />property, which according to the appraisement is all that the
<br />property is worth,

<br />NOW, THEREFORE,
<br />
<br />BE IT RESOLVED, By the Common Council of the City of Eugene
<br />that the Mayor and Recorder be and they are hereby directed to
<br />execute and deliver to Lola F. Babb a good and sufficient deed
<br />of conveyance to the above described property on behalf of the
<br />City of Eugene

<br />Resolution authorizing the Mayor and Recorder to execute a lease covering
<br />the rental of space for the installation of Radio Control Equipment at the municipa
<br />airport, was upon motion made and seconded, adopted on the condition that the same
<br />be not delivered until the City of Eugene has received a release for the like quar-
<br />t 40 ter from the United Air Lines and it was so ordered:

<br />WHEREAS, The Bureau of Air Commerce, United States Department
<br />of Commerce proposes to install Radio Control Equipment in
<br />the administration building at the Municipal Airport of the
<br />City of Eugene, State of Oregon.
<br />
<br />NOW, THhHEFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the Mayor and City Re-
<br />corder are hereby authorized to execute a lease covering the
<br />rental of space for the installation of Radio Control Equip-
<br />ment, to be situated in the most northerly portion of the
<br />center room, also known as the waiting room in the Administra-
<br />tion Building at the City of Eugene, Oregon, Municipal Airport.
<br />The terms of said lease to be substantially as follows:

<br />The space to be leased shall contain 188.5 square reet, more
<br />or less. The lease shall become effective July 1, 1938, and
<br />expire June 30, 1939, with an option of renewal to extend the
<br />period of occupancy to June 30, 1953. The consideration of
<br />said period of occupancy to June 30, 1953. The consideration
<br />of saId ~EEXNNXflf.xNEEM~HME~ lease being One Dollar ($1.00)
<br />for the period from July 1, 1938 to June 30, 1939, and One
<br />Dollar ($1.00) per year thereafter.
<br />
<br />An Ordinance (in revised form) amending Section 5 of Ordinance No. 8439 as
<br />amended entitled: "An ordinance regulating the use of power-speakers, calliopes
<br />and other noise-making, music-making or speech-making devices upon the streets of
<br />the City of Eugene, and requiring a license therefor," had Itsfirst reading and
<br />held for further consideration.
