<br /> 97~ <br />, - - <br /> WHEREAS, it 1s frequently inconvenient In closing transactions <br />I by the Treasurer's Office that the execution of the deed must " <br /> await another meeting of the Council for authority for the ...."....... <br /> ..,~..o <br /> Mayor and Recorder to sign the same on behalf of the City. ...'tt.. <br /> "'-J <br /> THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, By the Mayor and the Common Council <br /> of the City of Eugene that hereafter there must be incorporated <br /> irm the recommendation of the Finance Committee that upon the <br /> acceptance of any offer by them or of any counter-offer by the <br /> purchaser', that the Treasurer's Off ice may go forward and complete <br />I the making up of titles and conveyances and that the Mayor and <br /> Recorder shall be authorized upon such recommendation by the <br /> Finance Commi ttee to make, execute and deliver a deed or contrac,t, <br /> as the case may be, in accordance with the recommendation of the <br /> Finance Committee and where the title is registered, to sign <br /> and execute a withdrawal of the property from registration under <br /> the Torrence system without further resolution or authorization <br /> by the Council. <br /> In ae.cordance with the provisions of Ordinance #8539, the Mayor and Recorder <br /> were herewith instructed to execute a deed on beQalf of SCho,ol District #4 of Lane <br /> County, Oregon relative to the seventeen acre tract to be used for athletic and <br /> 69 recre~tlonal purposes. <br />/ <br /> The City Recorder presented a statement concerning the payment of salary to <br /> the band director from funds appropriated for that purpose. Estimated collection <br /> receipts (85%){ on $300.00., original sum budgeted, would reduce that amount to $255.0 <br /> which divided by twelve months would net the director payments of $21.25 per month. <br /> It was reported that $60.00 of said fund had already been remitted; and that the <br /> balance now due is $46.25, plus the amount due for the month of June, $21.25 or a <br /> total of $67.50. The council upon motion made and duly seconded, approved the pay- <br /> ment of $67.50 to bring the account up-to~date and payable July 11, 1938, with the <br /> regular bills and the further payment of $21.,25 for each succeeding month thereafter <br /> lO, for the year 1938, and such action was unanimously agreed upon. <br />I Upon motion made and seconded, the meeting was adjourned to meet on June 27, <br /> 71 1938. <br /> C.
