At <br /> '-1'" <br /> ;y- this meeting, plans for organization and selection-of committees <br /> may be discussed and determined. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this committee be known as the Labor <br /> Relations Committee, whose objectives will be to alleviate, if <br /> possible, the unemployment condition now existing rind endeavor <br /> to create industrial peace, in order that business as well as labor I <br /> may have a breathing spell which will enable both to work to~ards <br /> this common objective to relieve- the unemployment situation now <br /> existing in this city and state. <br /> . <br /> BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED', That a coordinating committee be set-up <br /> whose duty it shall be to make a survey of building needs in our <br /> city and county in order that the City of Eugene and the County' <br /> of Lane may be in a position to file application immediately with <br /> the PWA and other governmental lending agencies if it so recommends. <br /> W. C. Clubb, City Engineer, stated that he had been holding up a <br /> permit to move the old parish house of St. Mary's Episcopal Church from 7th and <br /> Olive to the southwest corner of 11th and Lawrence by reason of its size and condi- <br /> tion. Upon much discussion, it was agreed that a permit be granted on two condition . <br /> . <br /> that they obtain the written consent of property owners within two blocks of the new <br /> site and the splitting of the building, which is 44 x 60 feet, into parts so that <br /> there will be no damage to streets or posts in moving this building, and it was so <br /> 39 ordered. ~ <br /> I <br /> The City Recorder requested that all budgets now being'prepared by <br /> department heads and committees be turned into -his office by 5:00 o'clock P.M. <br /> 40 August 10th. <br /> ( <br /> The meeting was herewith adjourned. <br /> .
