B. Smith to be allowed to conduct a tea room and confectiona y <br /> 7~ at his home located at 1400 Willamett,e Street, was denied by the Board of Appeals i I <br /> ~~ their letter of transmittal to the council. Mr. Smith appeared in person before <br /> b: the council and stated that he was positive that there would be no complaint from <br /> the adjoining neighbors regarding the establishment of this type of business. Upon <br /> motion made, seconded and duly carried, the council rejected the recommendation of <br /> the Board of Appeals and ordered that a permit be granted providing that Mr. Smith <br /> will bring in a written approval from the adjoining neighbors. Communication from <br /> 33 Mr. Smith outlining in detail his plans, was placed on file. <br /> t <br /> Police Chairman ,Sam Bond recommended that renewal applications for 1939 I <br /> liquor licenses be granted to the following dealers and it was so ordered. Mr. <br /> Bond stated that no new applications would be accepted by the Committee for the <br /> 34 forthcoming year. Fire and Water Chairman Hanns stated that <br /> it was the understanding of his Committee that any bond and/or insurance policy mus <br /> be made specifically on the basis that the city of Eugene is to be paid for any run <br /> and services performed whether, or not there was any damage. The City of Eugene is <br /> to have a certified copy on file of all riders and/or bonds before the equipment <br /> will be discharged for any call.
