Fish and Zora Fish, husband an~ wife, for the follow- <br /> I ing described property: (see resolution}, was upon motion made and seconded, duly ....... <br /> , 26 adopted by the Council~ .''-t~ <br /> ~ <br /> RES 0 L UTI 0 N r....~ <br /> WHEREAS, The City of Eugene has acquired the following described property, <br /> to-wit: <br /> I Beginning at a point 335 feet South and 267~4 feet <br /> West of a point made by the intersection of the <br /> South line of 23rd Street as the same is platted <br /> and recorded in Gross Addition to Eugene, Lane <br /> County, Oregon with the West line of University <br /> Avenue, if extended South as the same is platted <br /> in said Gross Addition to Eugene, Lane County. <br /> Oregon, thence South 54.3 feet, thence West 18 <br /> feet, thence North 54.3 feet, thence East 18 feet <br /> to the place of beginning, all in Eugene, Lane <br /> County, Oregon <br /> WHEREAS,. The City of Eugene has caused the same to be appraised and de- <br /> termined its value and <br /> WHEREAS Franklin L. Fish and Zora Fish have offered the City of <br /> Eugene $20.12 for said property, which according to the appraisement <br /> is all. that the property is worth. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED, By the Common Council of the City of Eugene; that <br /> the Mayor and Recorder be and they are hereby directed to execute . I <br /> \ . <br /> and deliver to Franklin L. Fish and Zora Fish a good and sufficient \ <br /> deed of conveyance to the above described property on behalf of <br /> I the City of Eugene. <br /> The council approved the application of Arthur Kalanquin to conduct a second- <br /> hand store at 839 Olive Street on the recommendation of Chief of Police Carl F. <br /> /27. Bergman. <br /> The Recorder was requested to communicate with the Eugene Water Board as soon <br /> as the sewage disposal project is approved so that rates can be set by the Water <br /> 28 Board for collection of the charges. <br /> I <br /> Fifteen applications from dealers who are desirous of selling tobacco,were <br /> presented and approved. Councilman Hanns recommended that warrants be issued and <br /> individuals placed under arrest for failure to have a license. Upon motion made <br /> and seconded, this action was approved by the council. It was pointed out that <br /> - , under the existing ordinance (8547) there is no penalty clause whereby the court <br /> can impose fines in the event of certain dealers failing to apply for said license. <br /> ,29 The City Attorney was instructed to prepare a new ordinance. <br /> Chili Ville Shisler's Grocery <br /> Green's Food Market Taylor's Coffee Shop <br /> Lee's Coffee Shop Walsh's Grocery <br /> MIll's Grocery All:.pha De 1 ta Pi <br /> Palace Market Chi Omega <br /> Quick Lunch Gamma Phi Beta <br /> Rasmussen Grocery Kappa Alpha Theta <br /> I Sigma Chi <br /> An ordinance requiring every retail dealer who shall sell tobacco in any <br /> form in the city of Eugene to procure a license, fixing a penalty and declaring an <br /> emergency, was presented and had its first reading, passed to its second and third <br /> readings by title undfr suspension of the rule by unanimous consent of the council <br /> and was placed for fi~al, passage. The ayes and nays were called, councilmen voting <br /> 30 aye: Lamb, Hendershott, Reid, Hanns, Page, Bond, Farrington, Carlson; nay, none; <br /> absent, none. The ordinance was declared passed anld numbered 8560. <br /> I <br /> A request from the management of the Heilig Theatre to change the location <br /> of the ticket booth and to enlarge the foyer of the theatre, was presented by the <br /> Board of Appeals. As these changes will increase the exit facilities of the theatre <br /> 31 the Board recommends that the request be granted. Upon motion made and duly seconde , <br /> the recommendation of the Board was unanimously approved. <br /> J Request from George Chenault for a permit to erect a 12' x 32' portable house <br /> on the lot at the northwest corner of the intersection of Fifth Avenue West and <br /> Filmore Street, was presented by the Board of Appeals. As Mr. Chenault intends to <br /> comply with all sanitary regulations, the Board recommends that his request be gran ed, <br /> -/ <br /> ~ <br />
