<br /> The minutes of the previous meeting, September' 11, 1939, were presented
<br /> I 2v and ordered placed on file.
<br /> Councilman Farrington, Chairman of the -Finance Committee, presented
<br /> the offe~ of H. E. Cully for clients, Henry P. and ~rances E. Kubicek, $150.00,
<br /> $50.00 cash and the balance at $5.00 pen mdnth plus interest at a% for Lot 59,
<br /> ./ Foster"'s Addition wi th the commi ttee-'s recommendation that the offer be a.ccept'ed.
<br /> 3 Upon motion made and seconded the recommendatio~ was unanimously approved.
<br /> Chairman Farrington also presented the offer of Margaret E. Thompson
<br /> $100.00, $20.00 cash and the balance at $5.00 per month plus interest at 6% for the
<br /> West 75 feet of Lot.s 3, and 4, Block 6, Walnut Park Addi tion wi th the commi ttee' s
<br /> 4../ recommendation that the offer be accepted. Upon motion made and seconded the
<br /> recommendation was unanimously approved.,
<br /> The offer of Margaret E. Thompson, $120.00, $25.00 cash and the balance
<br /> at $5.00 per month plus interest at 6% for Lot 3 and the North 10 feet of Lot 4, ,
<br /> Block 2, Kiser Addition was presented to the Council with the committee's recommenda
<br /> tiont that the offer' be accepted. Upon motion made and seconded the recommendation
<br /> of the Finance Committee was unanimously appr'oved. (However, this offer was, re jecte
<br /> during the latter part of the meeting as Superintendent gramer and G. D. MacLaren,.
<br /> members of the Schooh Board, guaranteed the purchase of this property for School
<br /> 5L%District #4 after the next budget meeting..)
<br /> The offer of Edi th Gardiner for cl ients, A. F. Mariott and M-yr'tle Mariott,
<br /> $450.00 cash for the West 75 feet of Lots 24 and 25, Block 1, Hendrick's Amended
<br /> I Addition, was presented to the Council with the recommendation that the offer be
<br /> rejected and a counter offer of $500 be made and a request to save the west five
<br /> 6./ f'eet for an alley. Upon motion made and seconded the Recommendation of the Finance
<br /> Committee was unanimously approved.
<br /> The offer of Carl W. Robberson,. $300.00 cash for the north one-half of
<br /> Lot 6, Block 6, Huddleston Amended Addition WE!S rejected by the Finance Committee
<br /> and a counter offer' of $500.,00 made. This offer was in turn recommended to the coun il
<br /> ./ and upon motion made and seconded the committee's recommendation was unanimously
<br /> 7 approved.
<br /> The offer of Edith F. Gardiner for Client, O. H. Bogan, $250.00 cash for
<br /> that part of Lots 1 and 2, Block 6, Lizzie Luckey Addition which lies north of the
<br /> Amazon was presented by the Finance Committee with the recommendation that the offer
<br /> 8/ be rejected. Upon motion made and seconded the recommendation was unanimously
<br /> approved.
<br /> The offer of Sam Rugh Realty Company for client, Edith C. Davis, $300,
<br /> 150.00 down and $250~QO, payable April 3, 194Q at 2% for that part of Lots 1 and 2,
<br /> Block 6, Lizzie Luckey ~ddition lying north of the Amazon was presented by the ,
<br /> Finance Commi ttee with the recommendat ion that the offer be re jected., Upon motion
<br /> made and seconded the recommendation of the Finance Gommittee was uannimously approv d
<br /> 9 and the offer was rejected.
<br /> I The offer of H. E. Cully for clients, Fred E. Williams and Willie Mae
<br /> Williams for Lots, 1, 2, and 3, Block b, Lizzie Luckey Addition to the City of Eugene,
<br /> Lane County, Oregon, lying north and south of Amazon Slough was presented to the
<br /> council by the Finance Committee with a recommendation that the offer be accepted;
<br /> terms as follows: the sum of $50.60 as hereby receipted for and the sum of $350.00
<br /> upon approval of sale by,the Common Council of Eugene and,the issuing of proper
<br /> deed of transfer and ample evidence that title to said property is free and clear
<br /> 10/ of all encumbrances. Upon motion made and seconded the recommendation of the Finane
<br /> Committee was unanimously approved. .
<br /> I The Finance Committee recommended that the $100.0'0 refund requested by
<br /> lIt! Elmer Smith at the last council meeting be re~urned to nim. Upon motion made and
<br /> seconded the committee's recommendation was unaniIDo~sly approved.

<br /> alock b, ~cotts Addition was presented by the Finance 90mmittee with the recommenda-
<br /> 12 V- tlon that the offer be rejected. Upon motion made and seconded the recommendation
<br /> of the Finance Committee was unanimously approved.

<br /> The r-e.quest from J. D. Campbell for a refund of $100.00 on a contract in
<br /> Iwhich he agreed to start bUilding wi thin thirty days was pre.sented by the Finance
<br /> Fommittee with the recommendation that the r-equest be granted. Upon motion made and
