<br />:~; The minutes of the regular meeting of the Common Council held at the hour
<br />ex: of 7:,30 otclock p.m. October 9,1939. Mayor Elisha Large presided over the
<br />..11 meeting. Councilmen present were: Messrs. A. A.. Reid, Sam Bond, Fred Carlson,
<br />1 P. J. Hanns, C. C. Page and Louis Koppe; absent: Fred 1amb and A. C. Farrington.

<br />The minutes of the previous meeti ng, September' 25, 1969, were presented I
<br />2'1 and ordered placed on file.
<br />
<br />In the absence of A. C. Farrington, Councilman ~age presented the report
<br />of the Finance Committee beginning wi th the property offer of F'. M'. Bennet for
<br />client, Marshall Fields, $80.00 down and $50.00 per' year, total offer' $400.00 for
<br />the east 70 feet of the north 65 feet. of Lot 4, Block 25, Fairmount Addi tion.
<br />The Committee recommended that this offer be rejected and stated that their counter
<br />offer' of" $550.00 be approved. Upon motion made and seconded the recommendation
<br />;5./ of the Pinance Committee was unanimously approved.
<br />
<br />The offer of W. K. Striker for client, W. A. Sherer, $700.00 cash for
<br />Lot 12, Block 8, E'airmount Addition known as 1395 Or'"chard Street was recommended
<br />./.i for acceptance by the Finance Committee and upon motion ,made and seconded the
<br />4 recommendation was unanimously approved.

<br />The offer of W. K. Striker for client, Glen D. Bolin, $800.00, $25.00
<br />down; $25.00 October 10th; $50.00 November 10th; $50.00 December 10th; and the
<br />balance at $15.00 or more per month including interest at 6% for Lot 5, Block 3,
<br />Blair Street Addition known as 1455 West Second Avenue was recommended for acceptance
<br />J by the Finance Committee and upon motion made and seconded the recommendation was
<br />5 unanimously approved.

<br />Upon the recommendation of the Finance Committee, the offer of J. W.
<br />Brown and Gertrude Brown $400.00 cash for Lot 4, Block 10, Hendrick's Amended -
<br />Addition (120 feet north of the northeast corner of 16th ex Lincoln), motion was I
<br />made and seconded that the offer be rejected an~ a counter offer made of $480.00
<br />However, the client says he will build about a $3000 home so the committee
<br />} recommends a refund of $80.00 when the house is started. Upon motion made and
<br />6 seconded the recommendation of the Committee was unanimously approved.

<br />The offer of F. J. Berger for clients O. H. and J~nnie E. Bogen, $385.00
<br />cash for part of Lots 1, 2, and 3, Block 6, Lizzie Luckey Addition was, upon
<br />the recommendation of the Finance Committee rejected, as the council had accepted
<br />\ an off'er on the same piece of property at its last meeting. Upon motion made and
<br />7 seconded the recommendation of the Committee was unanimously approved.

<br />The offer of Rugh Realty Company for client, Edith Davis, $375.00 cash
<br />for Lots, 1, 2, and 3, elock 6, Lizzie Luckey Addition was, upon recommendation
<br />) of the Finance Committee, rejected as the council had accepted an offer on the
<br />8 same piece of property at its last meeting.

<br />The $400.00 cash offer of McCully Realty Company for client, Carl Robber-
<br />son, for the north 60 feet of Lots 6 and 7, Block 6, Huddleston Addit~on, was
<br />recommended by the Finance Committee provided the client builds in sixty days
<br />J after receipt of deed. Upon motion made and seconded the recommendati on of the
<br />9 Finance Committee was unanimously approved.
<br />
<br />Upon recommendation of the Finance Committee, the offer of Rugh Realty
<br />Company for client, O. J. Hull, $675.00 cash for Lot 1, Block 6, Kelsey's Second I
<br />Addition, motion was made and seconded that the offer be rejected and a counter
<br />offer made of $750.00. However, the client intends to build a $4000 or $5000 home
<br />and the Finance Committee recommended a $75.00 refund when the house is started.
<br />j Upon motion made and seconded the recommendation of the Finance Committee was
<br />10 unanimously approved.
<br />
<br />The $475.00 cash offer of H. E. Gully for clients, Fred Walter Fischer
<br />and Rachael Brown Fischer for Lot 12, Block 8, C,ollege Hill Park Addition was
<br />recommended by the Finance Committee and motion was made and seconded unanimously I
<br />ll~ approving the recommendation of the Finance Committee.

<br />The Finance Committee recommended a counter offer of $900.00 including
<br />sewer, on the offer of H. E. Cully for client, T,. S. Peterson, $800.00 cash for
<br />the south 1/2 of Lot 5 and all of Lot 6, Block 32, Gross Addition and motion was
<br />12J.i made and seconded approving the recommendation of the Finance Committee.

<br />The Finance Commi ttee also recommended a counter of $950.00 on the off'er
<br />of W. K. Striker for client, Fred Evoniuk, $850.00, $100.00 down and the balance
<br />at $15.00 per month plus interest at 6% for the east 48 feet of Lot 8, Block 4,
<br />I or'lginal addl tion known as 495 East 3r-d Avenue and motion was made and seconded
<br />13 approving the recommendation of the Finance Committee.
