Upon motion made and seconded the resolution <br /> I was unanimously adopted and the ordinance upon having its first reading was <br /> 4c(held to the next meeting of the council. <br /> RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> WHEREAS, heretofore the Common Council has submitted to the Planning <br /> Commission certain changes in the zoning of areas upon West Sixth Street and the <br /> Planning Commission has held hearings, adopted a tentative report and converted <br /> the same into a permanent and final rep~t and re-submitted it to the Common <br /> Council with the recommendation that the same be enacted into an ordinance <br /> and the council has prepared and given its first reading of an ordinance <br /> enacting said permanent report, <br /> Now, Therefore, the City Recorder be and he is hereby directed to <br /> ; prepare and cause to be published not less than three times in the Eugene <br /> Register Guard in Eugene, Oregon, a notice of hearing to be held at <br /> the regular Council Meeting on October 23, 1939 at 7~30 o'clock P.M., said <br /> notices to be published within the week commencing October 16, 1939. <br /> An ordinance amending Ordinance No. 8611 by adding thereto sections <br /> numbered 26 to 42 inclusiv.e, providing for the installation and maintenance of and <br /> relating to the use of parking meters upon certain streets and avenues was <br /> presented. A general discussion was had, after which Councilman Bond made a <br /> motion, seconded by Councilman Koppe, that the Saturday parking hours be from 8 o'cl ck <br /> a.m. to 8 o'clock p.m. but the motion was not carried. The ordinance had its first <br /> I / reading but was held over for its second and final readings until the next council <br /> 41 meeting. <br /> An ordinance granting a permit to the Duncan Meter Corporation to <br /> install and place parking meters, (Miller Meters) in a certain parking meter <br /> district in the City of Eugene was presented to the council for its first reading, <br /> and passed to its second and third readings by title under suspension of the <br /> rules. The ayes and nays were called, councilmen voting aye: Reid, Bond, Carlson, <br /> ~Hanns, Page and Koppe; nay: none; absent: Lamb and Farrington. The ordinance was <br /> I 42 declared passed and numbered 8619. <br /> .
