RES 0 L UTI 0 N BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council of the City of Eugene does hereby transmit to the Planning Commission of the City Qf Eugene, a proposal to change the West side of Oak Street from Ilt~ Avenue to 13th A venue, to a business district; to adopt a tentative report; and to hold a hearing thereon at the Council Chambers in the City Hall in the City of Eugene on Tuesday, October 17, 1939, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. after giving due notice by publication once in the Eugene Register Guar'd, and shall thereafter make a final report and transmit the same to the Council with its recommendation. Communication was presented from the Planning Commission submitting tentati ve zoning changes in the r'eaistri ct ing of areas upon west 6th Street. Attached thereto was a resolution recommending that the report be adopted and the same be enacted into an ordinance. Upon motion made and seconded the resolution I was unanimously adopted and the ordinance upon having its first reading was 4c(held to the next meeting of the council. RES 0 L UTI 0 N WHEREAS, heretofore the Common Council has submitted to the Planning Commission certain changes in the zoning of areas upon West Sixth Street and the Planning Commission has held hearings, adopted a tentative report and converted the same into a permanent and final rep~t and re-submitted it to the Common Council with the recommendation that the same be enacted into an ordinance and the council has prepared and given its first reading of an ordinance enacting said permanent report, Now, Therefore, the City Recorder be and he is hereby directed to ; prepare and cause to be published not less than three times in the Eugene Register Guard in Eugene, Oregon, a notice of hearing to be held at the regular Council Meeting on October 23, 1939 at 7~30 o'clock P.M., said notices to be published within the week commencing October 16, 1939. An ordinance amending Ordinance No. 8611 by adding thereto sections numbered 26 to 42 inclusiv.e, providing for the installation and maintenance of and relating to the use of parking meters upon certain streets and avenues was presented. A general discussion was had, after which Councilman Bond made a motion, seconded by Councilman Koppe, that the Saturday parking hours be from 8 o'cl ck a.m. to 8 o'clock p.m. but the motion was not carried. The ordinance had its first I / reading but was held over for its second and final readings until the next council 41 meeting. An ordinance granting a permit to the Duncan Meter Corporation to install and place parking meters, (Miller Meters) in a certain parking meter district in the City of Eugene was presented to the council for its first reading, and passed to its second and third readings by title under suspension of the rules. The ayes and nays were called, councilmen voting aye: Reid, Bond, Carlson, ~Hanns, Page and Koppe; nay: none; absent: Lamb and Farrington. The ordinance was I 42 declared passed and numbered 8619. . An ordinance granting a permit to the Dual Parking Meter Company to install and place parking meters (Dual Meters) in a certain parking meter district in the City of Eugene was presented to the council for its first reading and J.:Bssed to its second and third readings by title under suspension of the rules.
