Page <br /> wherein Mr. Page submitted his resignation from the Common Council effective as of <br /> January 1, 1940. The council very reluctantly accepted the resignation and <br /> I expressed the hope that Councilman Page would see his way clear to change his mind <br /> between now and the next meeting of the council on December 26. The Recorder <br /> also presented communication from Councilman Lamb wherein Mr. Lamb submitted his <br /> resignation from the Common Council effective as of December 31. The council again <br /> and very reluctantly accepted the resignation and hoped that it might be possible <br /> for a change of mind before the next council meeting. Mr. A. A. Barrett addressed <br /> the council extending praises for the fine services rendered by th~,wo councilmen <br /> 3q~ust resigned. <br /> Councilman Hanns raised the question as to the ways and means of handling <br /> accounts in the Engineering and Street Departments in which these departments do <br /> outside work returning a profit to the city and yet the wear and tear of the <br /> achinery is charged against their current budgets causing the supplies, expense <br /> and equipment account to be in the red. The matter was held for further considera- <br /> 3 tion at the next meeting of the council. <br /> Upon motion made and seconded the council meeting was adjourned. <br /> C. M.
