<br />'t~ The minutes of the adjourned meeting of the Common Council held at the
<br />hour of 7:30 m'clock p.m. February 26, 1940. Mayor Elisha Large presided over the
<br />meeting. Councilme'n present were: A. A. Reid, P. J. Hanns, "Sam C. Bond, A. C.
<br />Farrington, Fred Carlson, Louis Koppe, E. A. Barette, and H. J. Cox.

<br />The minutes of the previous meeting, February 12, 1940, were presented
<br />2~nd ordered placed on file.

<br />Councilman Farrington, Chairman of the Finance Committee, presented the
<br />property of~ers beginning with the offer of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Deal, $1000.00 cash,
<br />for Lot 1 and the East 6.8 feet of Lot 2, Block 11, James Huddleston Amended Additie .
<br />The Finance Committee recommended the acceptance of the offer, and motion was made
<br />3~and seconded unanimously approving the committee's recommendation.

<br />Upon the recommendation of the Finance Committee, motion was made, seconde
<br />and unanimously approved accepting the offer of Jacob T. Rom to pay up lien of $416.
<br />.,11$50.00 down and the balance at $10.00 or more per month on Lot 4, Block 1, Mountain
<br />4#iew Park Addition (2352 Onyx). ' .' '

<br />Motion was made and duly seconded unanimously approving the offer of Lotti
<br />N. Rugh for client, Wayne Ward, $450.00 cash, for Lot 11, Block 25, Col~ge Hill
<br />5~ark Addition.
<br />
<br />I The Finance Committee recommended granting the request of Cyril C. Ball fo
<br />IBargain and Sale Deed to the South 55 feet of Lot 2, Block 14, College Hill Park
<br />~ddition in order to sell this property; leaving a balance' of $270.00 on Lot 1 and
<br />Ithe North 5 feet of Lot 2, Block 14, College Hill Park Addition. Motion was made
<br />6"and seconded unanimously approving the recommendation of the Finance Committee.

<br />The Finance Committee r~commended a counter offer of $250.00 cash, $15.00
<br />per month plus interest regarding the offer of Mrs. Marvin Jackson, $1250.00, $50.00
<br />on March 10th and $50.00 a month for the next four months then dropping the payments.
<br />to $15.00 per month plus interest at 6% for Lot 6, Block 5, Purkerson and Quimby
<br />~ddition. Motion was made and seconded unanimously approving the recommendation of

<br />Upon the recommendation of the Finance Committee, motion was made and duly
<br />,seconded approving the acceptance of the offer of W. L. Seward, $525.00, $120.00
<br />~own and the balance at $10.00 or more per month plus interest at 6% for Lot 1,
<br />8vBlock 9, Hollenbeck Addition.

<br />Upon recommendation of the Finance Committee, motion was made and seconded
<br />rejecting the request of Louis Waldorf to drop the interest on the property on 23rd
<br />9JAvenue between Lincoln and Charnelton Streets.

<br />I The offer of Edith Gardiner for clients, Timothy and Louise A. Br~wnhill,
<br />~700.00 cash for the East 75 feet of Lots 7 and 8, Block 2, College Hill Park was
<br />presented. The Finance Committee recommended the rejection of this offer, but
<br />~ecommended the following offer: $500 for the east 50 feet of the same two lots.

<br />I The Finance Committee recommended the rejection of the offer of C. Gottchi
<br />for client, M. E. Henzler, $350.00 cash for the north 100 feet of Lot 1, Block 4,

<br />~hat zoning Changed to permit business building. Motion was made and seconded
<br />Ilvapproving the recommendation of the Committee.

<br />I The offer of Mrs. C. V. Sinniger, $300.00 cash, for the South 60 feet of
<br />Lots 1 and 2, Block 4, Campbells 1st Addition (Southwest corner of 7th and Polk Stree s)
<br />~as presented, and uP9n the recommendation of the Finance Committee, motion was
<br />12v~ade and seconded unanimously approving the offer.

<br />I The offer of C. A. Mackey, $300.00 cash, for Lot 10, Block 2, Campbells
<br />~st Addition (intends to build a home) was presented. The Finance Committee recommen ed
<br />~he rejection of this offer and recommended the following counter offer: $400.00;
<br />~100.00 returnable when construction starts. Motion was made and seconded unanimousl
<br />13 approving the rejection of the Finance Committee.

<br />II With reference to the communication from County Judge Clinton Hurd presente
<br />~t the last council meeting, the Finance Committee recommended that the city purchase.
<br />~the property located at 1297 West 6th Street from Lane County. Motion was made and
<br />14.81,econded unanimously approving the recommendation of the Committee.
<br />
<br />The Finance Committee recommended a counter offer of $600.00 on the offer
<br />pf Ralph M. Walker, $450.00 cash, for Lot 2, Block 1, Gilmores Addition (100 feet
<br />lEast of the Northeast corner of Broadway and ray10r Streets). Offer made on conditio
<br />that he receive a FHA Loan. Motion was made and seconded unanimously approving the
<br />15 recommendation of the Committee.
