J. Eberdtr No. 735, Bu4 Ritzdorf; No. 736, Bud Ritzdorf~ No. 737, <br />~rank L. Barnes;vno. 738, W. J. Gorie~ No. 739, L. H. Johnson;vNo. 740, Gilmore~ <br />10il Company; No. 741, Mrs. Hazel Malpas. The City Engineer recommended that all <br />lapPl~cations be granted and motion, was. made and seconded unanimously approving the <br />recommendation. . <br /> <br />53 <br /> <br />A resolution was presented directing the City Engineer to make a survey <br />pf such proposed street and to mark the boundaries and to make a plat of the same <br />~nd a written report containing a full and complete description of such proposed <br />street in the matter of the extension of Van Buren Street. Upon motion made and <br />Seconded the resolution was unanimously adopted. An ordinance adopting the survey, <br />~lat and report of the City Engineer as to the proposed opening and establishment of <br />fan Buren Street extended 160 feet South of the South line of 13th Avenue West in <br />/~ugene, Oregon was presented for its first reading and held until the next council <br />54 6eeting. <br /> <br />- , <br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br />The.C9mmon Council of the City of E~ene deems it <br />expedient to ope~, layout and establish an extension of <br />Van Buren Street in the City of Eugene, Lane County, Oregon <br />described as follows: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Commencing at a point in the South line of 13th <br />Avenue West intersecting theEast line of Van Buren <br />Street if extended, thence Souty 160 feet, thence <br />Wes West 66 feet, thence North 160 feet to a point in the <br />South line of 13th Avenue West intersecting the West <br />Line of Van Buren Street if extended, thence East 66 <br />feet to the place of beginning. <br /> <br />. . <br />and the City Engineer be and he is hereby directed to make a survey of <br />such proposed street and to ma~k the boundaries thereuf and to <br />make a plat of the same and a written ~eport.containing a full and complete <br />description of such proposed street and the boundaries thereof <br />and of the portions of every lot or tract of land to be appropriated <br />therefor, which survey, report and plat shall be filed with the City <br />Recorder of the City of Eugene within twenty days from the date this <br />Resolution is adopted. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />. , <br />An ordinance initiating the vacation of the following described premises: <br />ro-wit: The East 13 feet and the West 13 feet of Emerald Street between 24th and 25th <br />Avenues East in the City of Eugene, Lane County, Oregon, leaving Emerald Street <br />~O feet in width was presented to the council for its first reading. Under suspen- <br />sion of the rules it passed to its s~cond and third readings and placed for final <br />passage. The ayes and nays were called, councilmen voting aye: Reid, Hanns, Bond, <br />:farrington, Koppe, Baret.te and Cox; nay: none; absent: Carlson. The ordinance was <br />55 /leclared passed and numbered 8637. . <br /> <br />II Sealed bids for auditing the city books for the year ~940 were presented. <br />0nly one bid was submitted an4 that was from C. A. Horton for the sum of $324.00. <br />0ommunication was presented signed by P. W~ Brown, Robert Lemon, Spencer Collins <br />!nd Thomas Winn, all certified public accountants, stating that they were not sub- <br />!itting bids because they.felt that the engagement of an auditor should be on a <br />frofessional basis and not on a bid basis. No action was taken. Motion was <br />made and seconded to accept the bid submitted by Mr. Honmon and the motion was <br />56 ..... banimously approvedl <br /> <br />Upon motion the council adjourned. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />C.
