Smothers for the following described property <br /> 37 was presented and unanimously adopted: <br /> fA RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> ~ WHEREAS, the Eugene Water Board has bought and sold <br /> cR1 <br /> property with a view to straightening out its lines on its <br /> properties on the McKenzie highway, and in the process of I <br /> this adjustment has found it necessary to convey to Thomas R. <br /> Smothers the following described property, to-wit: <br /> I <br /> All of a triangular shaped tract of land bounded <br /> on the East by the East line of the SW! of SE!, Sec. . <br /> 2, T. l~ S. Application was presented from L. C. Peterson. for a <br /> bowling alley permit at 727 Willamette Street. As all applications had been approve <br /> 38'" by the Chief of Police, motion was made and seconded to grant licenses to all <br /> applicants and it was so ordered. <br /> The City Recorder reported there was a problem existing in the matter of <br /> providing chairs for members of the band at the regular band concerts. Motion was <br /> made and seconded that $75.00 be expended for purchasing,chairs with a possibility <br /> I of building a storage space for them at the base of the present stand. The question <br /> ~was placed upon roll. call, councilmen voting aye: Hanns; nay: Reid, Bond, Carlson, <br /> 39 Farrington, Koppe and Barette. Chadwick of Salem, Mayor Elisha Large extended an I <br /> invitation to the City of Eugene to attend Salem's centennial celebration from July <br /> 40"'-J 31 to August 4, ,. inc. <br /> Mayor Large reported that department heads of the city had received ~m <br /> the proposed budget forms for the 1941 bUdget and the same should be completed and <br /> 41'- in the hands of the City Recorder by the 24th of this month. <br /> Councilman Hanns reported that the Water main. was being extended on West I <br /> Sixth Street to give 'service to the new plywood plant and said authority should be <br /> granted for the installation of water hydrants b~~ond Sixth Street. Upon motion <br /> made and seconded the authority was granted for the purpose of protecting the plant <br /> 42 as previously agreed upon. <br /> Upon motion the council adjourned. <br /> . C. M.
