<br /> 1 BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of C;$'
<br /> Eugene that there is hereby transmitted to the Planning "1,3
<br /> Commission of the City of Eugene a proposal to change the ~,~
<br /> classification of Lots 71, 72, 73, and 74, Foster's Addition
<br /> to Eugene, Lane County, Oregon, from a single family residence
<br /> district to a light industrial district, this being the DE Cou
<br /> property.
<br /> And directing the Planning Commission to adopt a ten-
<br /> 1 tative report; and to hold a hearing thereon in the Council
<br /> Chambers in the City Hall of the City of Eugene, on Tuesday,
<br /> the 22nd day of October, 1940, at 7:30 o'clock p.m. after
<br /> giving due notice by publication once in. the Eugene Register
<br /> Guard, and they shall thereafter make a final report and
<br /> transmit the sarne to the Council with their recommendation.
<br /> I The following curb cut applications were presented: No. 799 for N. C.
<br /> Koch; No. 800 for M. P. Fraleyf No. 802 for J. C. Watts; and No. 803 for R. A.
<br /> Denney.-/ As the City Engineer recommended granting the reque sts, motion was made
<br /> and seconded to grant licenses for curb cuts and it was so ordered. A curb cut
<br /> application was presented from Safeway Stores for a cut of 17 feet. As the plans
<br /> and specifications had not been received by the City Engineer in time to to make
<br /> 36 a recornnendation, this application was held up until the next council meeting.
<br /> Communication was presented from Councilman p. J. Hanns tendering his resign -
<br /> tion from Ward #1 to take effect on October 14, 1940. Mayor Large expressed his
<br /> regret of having to accept the same. Councilman Reid made a motion, seconded by
<br /> Councilman Farrington to accept the resignation. All Councilmen present voting yes
<br /> 37",. with the 'exception of Councilmen Carlson and Stewart.

<br /> At this time Mayor Elisha Large~amed Mrs. P. W. Brown to fill the unexpired
<br /> term created in the Planning Cemmissi0ft by' the death of E. O. Potter. Upon motion
<br /> 38v made and duly seconded, the recomraendation was unanimously approved.
<br /> 1 An Ordinance providing for the construction of a sewer in the Chula Vista
<br /> District as follows:
<br /> Beginning at the main city sewer at the intersection of 24th
<br /> Avenue East and Chula Vista Street, and running thence East
<br /> to a point approximately 20 feet East of the West line of Lot 1
<br /> Block 27, Chula Vista Park 2nd Addition, being a 6 inch main; and also
<br /> I' three 4 inch laterals serving the properties herein described
<br /> located in Lots 1, 2, and 3, Block 27, Chula Vist Park 2nd Addition,

<br /> was presented and had its first reading. By unanimous consent of the council the
<br /> rules were suspended and the ordinance had its second and third readings by
<br /> title and passed to its final passage. The ayes and nays were called, councilmen
<br /> voting aye: Reid, Bond, Carlson, Farrington, Koppe, Barette and Stewart; nay:
<br /> 39 none; absent: Hanns. The ordinance was declared passed and numbered 8658.
