<br /> WHEREAS , heretofore the City of Eugene at a general ,",."

<br /> election held on November 5, 1940, authorized, empowered and ~
<br /> directed the Common Council to include in its general tax levy "''''1

<br /> for two years next succeeding the authorization a special levy
<br /> of three, Inills upon the dollar valuation of all taxable property
<br /> within the City of Eugene for the purpose of purchasing land for
<br /> an ~irport for the City of Eugene,
<br /> WHEREAS, a committee has been selected of members of the
<br /> Council and of citizen members to select and recommend an
<br />I airport site and the committee so selected have filed their
<br /> recommendation vvith the Common Council together with options for
<br /> all of Section 6, Township 17 South of Range 4 West, said
<br /> recommendation endorsing certain of the prices na.med in the
<br /> options and withholding endorsement from others.
<br /> Now, Therefore, the Common Council of the City of Eugene
<br /> acting upon authority of the electors as expressed in the election
<br /> of November 5, 1940, hereby select Section 6, 'I'ownship 17 South
<br /> of Range 4 West as the site for the proposed airport to be pur-
<br /> chased at prices named in the option where those prices are
<br /> deemed reasonable by the Common Council and to be secured by
<br /> the exercise of eminent domain in cases where the prices are
<br /> deemed unsatisfactory and exorbitant.
