<br />~ Resolution was presented authorizing the Mayor and City Recorder to
<br />execute the contract and issue warrants, depositing the contract and warrants in
<br />the First National Hank of Eugene for the purchase of the Clyde F. and Juanita
<br />Crawford property. A resolution pledging the full faith and credit of the City
<br />of Eugene to the orderly issuance of the warrants and payment thereof was presented.
<br />Motion was made and secamded unanimously approving both resolutions.. I

<br />BE IT RESOLVED, By the Common Council of the Gity of
<br />Eugene that the Mayor and the City Recorder be and they are hereby
<br />authorized and directed to make, execute and deliver the
<br />hereto attached contract and to issue vvarrants upon their airport
<br />fund in conformity with the provisions of the contract, and
<br />deposit the contract and the ~arrants in the First National
<br />Bank of Eugene, of Eugene, Oregon

<br />WHEREAS, the City of Eugene, acting through its Common
<br />Council under authorization of the eldctors at the election of
<br />November 5, 1940, has purchased certain properties constituting
<br />a site for an airport, and .
<br />
<br />VmEREAS, in order that the City may complete the pur-
<br />chase, a series of contracts have been entered into with the
<br />sellers providing that upon their depositing a deed and an
<br />abstract showing marketable title, free of incumbrances, that
<br />the city will, as soon as it conveniently can, examine and approve
<br />the title, issue ~arrants for the purchase price, and
<br />
<br />\VHEREAS, the First National Bank of Eugene and The I
<br />United States National Bank of~Portland (Oregon) through its
<br />Eugene Branch, have agreed to take over the warrants so delivered
<br />to the sellers and to give the sellers cash therefor,
<br />
<br />BE IT RESOLVED that the Co~~on Council of the Gity of
<br />Eugene does hereby pledge the full faith and credit of the
<br />City of Eugene to the orderly issuance of the warrants and the
<br />payment thereof and expressly agrees with the banks aforesaid
<br />that they will, themselves, defend any litigation, should any
