<br />An ordinance granting the Southern Pacific Company the right to lay,
<br />construct, maintain and operate three new tracks across Lincoln Street, having' had
<br />its first reading July 14th, was read the second,:time and under suspension of the
<br />rules was read for the third~ime. The Mayor called for objections and there being
<br />none, roll was called with all councilmen present voting aye: Pennington absent.

<br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of
<br />Eugene that there is hereby transmitted to the Planning
<br />Commission of the City of Eugene a prCbposal to change the
<br />classification of all that area lying between Willamette
<br />Street and Hilyard Street,and North of Nineteenth Street,
<br />in Eugene, Lane County, Oregon, from a single family residence
<br />district to a multiple family residence area. I

<br />And directing the Planning Cornmission to adopt a
<br />tentative report; and to hold a hearing thereon in the
<br />Council Chambers in the City Hall of the City of Eugene,
<br />on Tuesday, the 19th day of August, 1941, at ?:30 o'clock
<br />P. M., after giving due notice byp~blic~tion once in the
<br />Eugene Register Guard, and they shall thereafrUer make a final
<br />report and transmit the same to the Council with their recommendation.
