Paine for" client to build a multiple <br />family swelling on the northeast corner of 11th Avenue and Polk Street. The <br />Board recommends that this request be referred to the Planning Commission and this <br />32 was accepted by the council. I <br /> <br />A request was received from Douglas W~. Orme for permission to build a <br />duplex on Lot 8, Bloqk 22, College Hill Park, corner of 22nd Avenue and Washington <br />Street. Th~ duplex will appear like a single family residence and will cost <br />about $6500.00. The Board recommends that this be referred to the Planning <br />Commission. L. Bown, caretaker of the Comfort Station, was read <br />requesting that the big room at the Comfort Statio-n be closed at 7:00 o'clock in <br />the evening but that the two toilet rooms be k~pt open until 9:00 P. M. Also, <br />the same rule apply for legal holidays as applies for Sundays, in that the big <br />room be closed all day but that the two toilet rooms be kept open. Upon motion <br />39 made .and seconded this request was granted. <br />r <br />The Recorder rep<;,>rted that a verbal complaint had been received from Bill's <br />Garbage Service in regard to the Eugene Sand and Gravel Company hauling the <br />rubbage away from the Newbe~ry fire. They. said this was-the garbage haulers duty. <br />40 No action was taken by the council. <br /> <br />The Recorder reported a letter of acceptance from the Southern Pacific I <br />Company of Ordinance 8686 granting the latter the right to construct new ,tracks <br />41 on LinColn Street. <br /> <br />The monthly reports of the Engineer,.Police Matron, and Police Department <br />42 were read and ordered placed on file. <br /> <br />Mayor Large reported that in the constructionof West 7th Street by the ~ <br />Highway Commission, it was found that a house belonging to Mrs. Louis Wilford, I <br />1587 West 7th, ex~ended over into the street and that the City had.to move the <br />house back and also install a septic tank for her with the understanding she was <br />to reimburse the city. Mayor Large explained this had been in the hands of the <br />City Attorney but had so far done nothing with the matter. The Mayor aSked for <br />authority for the City Attorney to collect the bill.
