<br />574 <br />- - - <br />- -- - - n -- - ----- - - ---~----_."- "'--'--- -. ---- - <br /> The Recorder reported that the present gasoline contract would expire on <br /> December 31st and on motion mede and seconded the Recorder was authorized to <br /> L,~ advertise for bids for next year's gasoline contract to be opened at the next 1 <br /> i30 council meeting. <br /> ,.,-.q..p.' <br /> ."'\'h~ <br />~'l Mayor Large reported that the League of Oregon Cities would be holding a <br />~ <br />~~ regional dinner at Seymour's Cafet Thursday evening, December 11th at 6:15 and all <br /> councilmen were mnvited. . <br /> ,..-- <br /> Mayor Large stated he had a letter from the Pamona grange stating they <br /> were endeavoring to get the district convention meeting in ~ugene next year and <br /> wanted the approval of the council. Motion by Bond and se90nded by Brownson I <br /> that the Mayor be authorized to invite this convention, to ];ugene was carried. <br /> Mayor Large stated there was no penalty now for people not obeying the <br /> bilackouts and after some discussion the City Attorney was instructed to prepare <br /> an ordinance to be presentedat the next council meeting in regard to this matter. <br /> " <br /> The Mayor stated that under the conditions it might be wise to appomnt <br /> extra pOlicemen and firemen at this time rather than to wait until the first of th <br /> yea I' . The Mayor was asked if he had an elligible list for policemen and firemen <br /> and the Recorder reported that there would be an elligible list for both policemen <br /> and firemen just as soon as medical reports could be returned. A motion was made <br /> by Dond and seconded by Stewart that owing to the existing conditions the Mayor <br /> be authorized to appoint the policemen and firmen as soon as the elligible list <br /> was presented to him and the appointments could be confirmed at the next council ' <br /> meeting.
