<br />5:98 <br /> <br />I - <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />:1,[ <br />It: <br /> <br />~~l <br /> <br />1NHEREAS,: oh~,the,;.2~t.hCdayc6f March, 1919, Lane County, Oregon <br />executed and delivered to Eunice Studley a tax sale deed for Lot 6, <br />Block 7, James Huddleston's Amended Addition to Eugene, Lane County, <br />Oregon, as best bidder at a tax sale, which deed was files April 2, <br />1919 and recorded at Fage 524 of Book 119 of the Deed Records of <br />Lane County, Oregon. <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />" . <br />'\."..9 <br />C): <br /> <br />.;x <br /> <br />That at the session of the Legislature in 1919 which occurred <br />after this foreclosure and deed, there was a provision inserted that <br />the city could not be forec~osed of its municipal liens by a private <br />purchase butthi~ foreclosure took effect before the, law was enacted. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />As a result of this, the city was served December 20, 1918 with <br />summons and failed to answer and as a result was f'o.reclosed of its lien <br />and lost all right to the property, <br /> <br />Therefore <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Recorder b~'and they are <br />hereby authorized and directed to make, execute and deliver a good and <br />sufficient quit claim deed to Eunice Studley from the City of Eugene <br />for the above described land. <br /> <br />At this time, a letter of resignation of Fatrolman P. J. Jorgenson <br />27 was read and on motion made and secomed, the resignation was accepted. <br /> <br />At this time, Mayor Large stated that the Street Department had <br />installed some new ideas and was requested that anoth'er man be hired and he <br />stated that he wOlild like to appoint Mr. H. K. Evans of 1636 Fairmount Street <br />for this work. On ,motion made by Councilman Bond and seconded by Bronson this <br />28 appointment was confirmed. <br /> <br />Councilman Bond stated that in front of the Hoffman Jewelry Store, <br />there was a light post in the sidewalk very close to the' street and that one <br />party's fender had been damaged on this post. This matter was referred to the <br />29~ Street Department for investigation. <br /> <br />At this time, bids for the Grading and Gravelling Of Washington Street <br />from the North of Twenty-Second Aven~e to the South line of TWenty-third Avenue <br />and also for the construction of a sewer on the same property were opened. The <br />bids were as follows: <br /> <br />I, <br /> <br />For Grading and Gravelling: <br />Eugene Sand and Gravel Company..................$1,949.94 <br />Harry I.
