<br />618 <br /> <br />\ <br />Mayor Large also reported that a certain bill dated August 16th rendered <br />to the Eugene School District in the amount of $?6.68 for the burning of the <br />grounds at the Francis Willard School after the Carnival vvas still unpaid. A <br />motion was made, seconded, and carried that the Recorder' address a letter to the, <br />School Board requesting that this bill be paid. <br /> <br />Councilman Farrington reported that the Southern Pacific crossing on <br />Monroe Street was in very bad shape. He said that Mr. Clubb had taken this matter <br />up witn the Southern Pacific but that the crossing had not been repaired. On <br />motion made, seconded, the Recorder was instructed to write the Southern Pacific <br />Company requesting that this crossing be reQ?!ired at an early date. Councilman <br />Stewart reported that the Water Committee was laying a new eight-inhh main~' <br />on Railroad Boulevard and that there should be a fire plub placed at Grand Street <br />on the Railroad Boulevard and that there Was one other location tha'e Chief <br />Nusbaum wanted a change made in the size of the valve, changing from a four-inch <br />to a six-inch.
