<br />A letter from the Eugene Youth Council signed by Earl E.Boushey, President
<br />was read. This letter recommended that the Council should make an exchange with
<br />the County of different properties so that the City could acquire a location inside
<br />of the ~ilrgrounds for a swimming pool. It was requested in the letter that" this
<br />exchange be made at this time so that preparations could be made for work as soon
<br />as the war was over. On motion made and seconded, the letter was ordered tabled
<br />tabled for the duration of the war.

<br />: VJHEREAS, there has been submitted to the Cornman Council a proposal by Dr. P. J.
<br />~ Bartle, ~h~t L?t 8, Block 4 of Shelton's Addition to the City of Eugene should
<br />~ be classlfled In such a manner as to provide a shop for the manufacture of brooms
<br />n and' for carpenter work by the bl ind and the pro j ec t seems to the council to be
<br />i: worthy and one to be encouraged,

<br />Councilman Barette stated that Mr. Pierce had said they "vere going to do sorne
<br />wor,k toward cleaning up the 1. O. O. f.j Cemetary and they would like to have the
<br />assistance of the' Street Department. There was som~ c.tiscussion regarding this and
<br />it was stated that the Street Department had about ~ll the work that they could
<br />handle and there was no action taken.
