It was pointed out ,that nothing much could be done at this time as there likely wo~ld be more rain and Councilman Hawn state that he would make an investigation regarding what could be used for a spray." to control the mosquitos as soon as the watter in the Amazon had dried up more. A communique from S. M;_ Calkins, City Attorney, regarding the claim of D. F. Mains for damages in an auto accident in August 1942 was read. Mr. Calkins explained that the City carried liability_insurance on the truck and Mr. Mains settlement was to be made withthe Insurance Company and that the City had nO,right to tnterfere in any way with the settlement. On motion made, seconded and carried the following resolutioIl was adopted by the Council; RESOLUTION Be it Resolved by the Common Council of the City of Eugene that whereas there are undistributed balanc,es in certain funds all of which constitue parts of the Parent District Improvement f~nds as follows: Excess amount in the Improvement Bond Interest Fund Atheltic Field Fund P~ving Intersection Fund Sidewalk Revolving Lien Rent Fund I It is Therefore ordered that all of the foregping accounts be closedd and the amounts shown in each be transferred at the end of the Fiscal year to the Improvement Bond Sinking Fund for the purpose of retiring bonded indebt- edness to the Cityl Balances as of May 1st were;- Improvement Bond' Interest Athletic Field Fund Paving Intersection Fund Sidewalk Revolving Fund Reserve to be held Lien Rent Fund Fund $24,000.00 6,127.80 6,240.77 $4,975.56 2,000.00 .':;?';-975:;56 608.31 Transfers of actual balance will be made as of June 30th which is the end of the fiscal year. On motion made, seconded ~nd carried the following resolution was adopted by the Council; RESOLUTION WHEREAS, in the tax levy for 1941, funds were created in the Eugene Water Board Levy, Eugene Public Library, the Lien Department Levy, and the Street and Bridge Department'Levy, in each of which balances remain to be transferred to the General Fund.
