The ordinance was <br /> I <br /> I: declared passed and numbereq 8803. <br /> Mayor Large explained at this time that the State Sanitary Authority was <br /> aSking that the City make certain tests for information regarding Sewer Disposal <br /> , plants. That the'Work was to be done under supervision of Engineer from the <br /> ,I <br /> I~ State College. Mr. Clubb stated that in addition to taking samples the City <br /> 35 .:i probably would be ex~ected to purchase recording gauges. He thought the gauges <br /> I would not cost over 75.00 and that the entire work probably would. not cost <br /> i more than $150.00 or $200.00. It was p'ointed out that it was in connection <br /> I with the Sewage Disposal platn to be built by the City and that the 'funds could <br /> j <br /> I. be taken out of the Sewage Disposal Fund. A motion was made by Koppe and <br /> 1'1 <br /> !: seconded by"Hawn and carried that this work should be done by the City and,that <br /> I' <br /> .. the expense should come out of the sewage disposal fund. <br /> i ~ <br /> I!t <br /> I' Councilman Stewart thought some provision should be made to cover cost of <br /> i <br /> " the enforcement of the rooming house ordinance. A motion was made by Stewart <br /> i' and seconded by Farrington that the amount of $300.00 should be ta~en from the <br /> I; <br /> ! Emergency fund and paid to the City-Lane County Health Department for the en- <br /> 36 !I forcement of thia ordinance,. 'On vote this motion was carried. ' <br /> I <br /> ,: At this time Councilman Hawn stated that Mr. Wiper had asked him to present <br /> his oral res~gnation to the Council and to express his regrets to the Council <br /> I I: that it was impossible for him to continue the work. A motion was made, seconded <br /> I' and carried that the resignation of Mr. Wiper be accepted. , Mayor Large was <br /> !:: instructed ,to send a letter to Mr. Wiper expressing the Council regret on <br /> I account of his resignation and thank Mr. Wiper for his services. Mr. Hawn <br /> I; stated that it was custom~ry for the senior member to name the succes~or for <br /> I:: <br /> 37 Ii the council but that Mr. Wiper had suggested that Edward F. Bailey should be <br /> I; appointed at th~s time for Councilman from t~~ 1st ~ard and that he was recomm- <br /> " ending to the Mayor that this appointment be made. Mayor Large stated that he <br /> I, <br /> e felt Mr. Bailey should make a good councilman and that he was recommending his <br /> f! <br /> I. .. . . .. <br /> name as Councilman from the lst ward. A motion was made by Farrington and <br /> I! seconded by Koppe and carried that tp.is appointment be confirmed. .
