It was further moved by Crumbaker, seconded by Koppe that the matter of re-apprais 1 15:, of City properties, to facilitate sales by manager's office, be investigated by the Council Finance Committee. Motion carried. The Committee on Streets to whom was referred various matters, submitted the following report: "We recommend tha t the South side of 8th Avenue liVest between Charnel ton Street and the alley West be designated as a one-hour parking zone. , We further recommend that the request of Twin Oaks Builders' Supply Co. for temporary use of parking area on Charnel ton between 5th and 6th Avenues be granted, with the u~derstanding t~"at such space be used for shingle storage only until November 1, 1945. In the matter of a request from the Seventh-day Adventist Church for vaca- tion of a portion of Taylor street, and the purchase of a strip of property in the Northeast corner of the old airport, we recommend the following: 1. That the application for street vac8tion be granted. 2. That none of the property comprising the old airport site be sold by the City of Eugene, pending further plans for the development of this area, and that the City Manager be authorized to enter into an agreement with the petitioner for use of the property in question for playground purposes - such agreement to be subject to termination by the City if and when the property is required." . 16 I Motion by Davis, seconded by Crumbaker that the recommendation of the Committee on Streets be adopted.
