<br />Commission certain changes -in the classification of Lots 8 9 and 10 of Block
<br />2~, ~ackard's Addition ~o Eugene, Lane County, Oregon, and'th~ Planning Com-
<br />~~ss~on.has held a hea:~ng~ adopted a permanent and final report end submitted
<br />~t to the Common Counc~l w~th the reconmendation that the same be enacted into
<br />an ordinance, and the Council has prepared and given its first reading of an
<br />ordinance enacting said permanent report.
<br />Now, Therefore, the City Recorder be and he is hereby directed to pre-
<br />pare and cause to be published not less than three times in the Eugene Register
<br />Gua r~ in Eugene, Oregon, a notic e of hearing to be held at the regular Counc il
<br />meet~ng on Monday, May 14,1945, at 7:30 o'clock P,.M., s8id notices to be publi-
<br />shed within the week commencing May 7, 1945." - '

<br />The following resolution was read and upon motion was adopted:
<br />"'V'lHEREAS, Heretofore the Eugene Water Board has declared by Resolution
<br />tha t the hereinafter described real esta te is no "longer needed by the Eugene
<br />Water Board in its operations and have negotiated a selle of the same to
<br />LeRoy D. Peterson and Sara A. Peterson, husband and wife, for a purchase price
<br />of $195.00. "
<br />Therefore, BE IT 'RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Eugene that
<br />the Mayor and the City Recorder be and they are hereby directed to make, execute
<br />and deliver a deed on behalf of the City of Eugene to LeRoy D. Peterson and Sara
<br />A. Peterson, husband, and wife, upon a consideration of $195.00, which deed shall
<br />contain no covenants and shall describe the following described real estate, ~I
<br />to-wit: The West One-half (wt) of Lot 2, Block 4 of Pearl Addition to Eugene,
<br />Lane County, Oregon.; as platted and recorded at page 24 of Volume 5, Lane County
<br />Plat Records, in Lane County, Oregon."

<br />- Report of special meeting with School District Directors relative to I
<br />Vacation of Certain Streets and Alleys Leading to the High School Tract, was
<br />submitted as follows:
<br />"Thereupon Councilman Bailey made the following motion: That the City i
<br />Manager be authorized and directed to submit to the Board of Directors of ,
<br />School District #4 a proposal that in consideration of the City vacating various'
<br />streets and alleys, which are embraced in a vacation proceeding now under way, ,
<br />that the SChool Board 'agrees at this time to make, execute and deliver to the
<br />City of Eugene a deed 'of dedication to the public for a right-of-way for an
<br />extension of Pearl'Street South through their property to conform in width and
<br />alignment with any extension of Pearl Street, which the City desires to make,
<br />reserving the right of the School District to use said property for school pur-
<br />poses until January 1, 1965 or until they cease to use it for school purposes,
<br />whichever is the sooner; it being understood that the School District shall
<br />not claim any cOlnpensation for land taken or damages in connection with said
<br />improvement and that the City shall make no assessment against the property of
<br />the School District for any benefits accruing on account of said improvement."

<br />Captain Max Green, represe:1.ting the Eugene Flyer's Associa tion appeared
<br />before the Council, in connection with use of City Airports for private flying,
<br />requesting .exclusive concession for operation of private aircraft at the old
<br />
<br />Airport.

<br />Motion by Crumbaker; seconded by Johnson that the matter be referred to ,the
<br />Manager for complete report on post war airport operations. Motion carried.
