Motion carried. The Committee on Airports submitted the following report; "We have investigated the matter of airport use and management ,in connection with the future development of the Mahlon Sweet kirport and the MuniCipal Air- .L port. The Committee beleives that every effort should be made to provide an orderly and sound program of airport development for post-war activity in pri- vate and commercial flying. We recommend the following: That the Council create the Eugene Airport Commission to be appointed by the Mayor and to con- sist of five members. Commission to act in an advisory capacity to the City I Manager and the Common Council in formUlating definite policies for the manage- ! ment and maintenence of local airport facilities; suggest a program for develop-I ment of post-war aviation, and rules and regulations to govern airport useage. ! Terms of the Commission memvers to be one year." ! Motion by JOhnson, seconded by Davis that the report of the committee be adopted~ Motion carried. , Mayor McNutt announced the appointment of the following persons to serve on the airport commission: Elisha Large, Chairman; Victor Morris, Mahlon Sweet, ' Jasper Clark and Lynn McCready. . Motion be Hawn, seconded by Koppe that the apointments be confirmed. Motion carried. ~
