The apartments are to be used~for returning married war veterans, <br />enabling them to attend the University. <br /> <br />The Board recommends that this request be granted. <br /> <br />Motion by Hawn, seconded by Davis that the report, with the exception of C. F. <br />Wright's request, be adopted, Motion carried. <br /> <br />Motion by Davis, seconded by Crumbaker that the request of C. F. Wright be <br />tabled. Motion carried. <br /> <br />The following report was submitted by the City Board of He~lth, relative <br />to Council Bi~l Number 4, being the Standard Milk Ordinance: <br /> <br />We recommend amehdments to Council Bill No.4 as follows: <br /> <br />Section I. <br />A. Milk - that this section be changed to read 3.25 per cent <br />butter fat content to conform with state and federal codes. <br /> <br />D. Skilnmed Milk is milk from with all, or nearly all, of the <br />butterfat has been removed. <br /> <br />G. VitaminD Milk is milk, the vitaminD. content of which has <br />been increased to 400 units per quart and by a method approved <br />by the health officer. <br /> <br />:. K. To change amendment so as not to include manufactured dairy <br />products. <br /> <br />Section 8. <br />From and after July 1, 1945, no milk or milk products shall be sold <br />to final consumer, restaurant, soda fountain, grocery..;r stores or <br />s~milar establishments except Grad e "A" pasteurized. ' Provided, etc--- <br /> <br />(a). A lower than Grade "A" pasteurized milk may be permitted during <br />such times that Grade "A" raw milk is no.t available for pasteurizing, <br />and such milk shall be ,pasteurized, bottled and labeled with a cap from <br />which the words Grade "Aft are omitted, and the distributors name shall <br />be on the cap. This milk shall be supervised by the City Milk Inspector <br />and discontinued as soon as Grade "A" Milk is available for pasteurizatio . <br /> <br />(b). When Grade "'C" milk or cream 'is used for pasteurizing or stand-' <br />ardizing by any pasteurizing plant, all milk from such plant shall be <br />labeled with caps marked "Pasteurized", and bear distributors name, <br />provided that when 100 or.more gallons of tIC" grade milk are pasteurized, <br />labeled and processed separately from Grade "Aft raw milk, it will no~ be <br />required to label the pasteurized Grade "A" ,.milk other than Grade "A,H . <br />pasteurized milk, and bear the distributors name. <br /> <br />We ,further recommend that Council Bill No.4 as amended be given final <br />passage by the Common Counci~. <br /> <br />On motion the report was ordered adopte~. <br /> <br />Ii <br />Motiq,n carried. <br /> <br />A report of the Parks & Playgrounds,Commission was submitted and read as <br />follows: <br /> <br />"The City Park and Playground Commission meeting May 8, 1945, adopted <br />the following recommend~tion to the City Counci~: That the proposal for <br />combination of the Parks and Playgrounds Department obe endorsed, and that <br />provisions be made for such combination in the 1945-46 budget." <br /> <br />Motion by Koppe, seconded by Davis that the report be adopted. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Bills against various city departments for the month of April 1945 were <br />submitted as follows: On roll call all Councilmen voting AYE, absent Bailey. <br />Upon motion the bills were ordered paid. <br /> <br />GENERAL FUND <br /> <br />Aetna Life Ins.
