<br />herewith make' request to the C'ity Council of Eugene that theissue pertaining to

<br />"We the' undersigned property owners do hereby petition the City Council
<br />of the City of Eugene, Oregon, for asewer to serve the properties on 1st avenue
<br />between Jackson and Adams and for the purpose of eliminating the septic tanks
<br />in this area, which are a hazard to the public health."

<br />Motion by Johnson, seconded by Davis that the petition be granted and that the
<br />necessary ordinances be prepared. Motion carried.

<br />A communication from the Veterans or Foreign Wars relative to use of City
<br />property was submitted and read as follows:

<br />"Willamette Post 293, Vl1V has secured th~ Browning Carnival Company for
<br />Eugene on the week of June 4th. We have the license from the County and have
<br />rented the Fairgrounds for the pnrpose of holding this carnival..
<br />We are asking permission fram you to do as we did 1st year; that is, to
<br />allow part of the carnival to extend within the city limits. The reason for
<br />, asking this is that we can make better use of parking facilities for' the con-
<br />venience of the public."

<br />Rooming House License application of Ella Durkee, 453 Willamette Street,
<br />approved by Police, Fire, and Health Authorities, was submitted and upon motion
<br />the license was ordered granted. Motion carried.

<br />Council Bill number 4, the ptandard Milk Ordinance was presented for the
<br />3rd reading as amended. Motion by Koppe, seconded by Hawn that the ordinance be!
<br />read the third time by title and placed for final passage. All Councilmen pre-
<br />sent voting AYE, absent Bailey. The ordinance was declared passed and numbered
<br />8821.

<br />Council Bill Number 5, Revision of Electrical Code, was presented for the
<br />second reading. The City Manager reported that the Electrical Inspection Board
<br />was withdrawing the bill in favor of an amendment to the present code ordinance
<br />number 8347. Motion by Crumbaker, seconded by Hawn that Council Bill Number 5 I'
<br />be referred to the Fire and Water Committee. Motion carried. '

<br />Council Bill number 10, Rezoning Southeast corner, 13th and ~live, was pre!
<br />sented. Motion by Koppe, seconded by Hawn that the ordinance be passed to its I
<br />second and third readings by unanimous consent of the Council, by title, under
<br />suspension of the rules, and be placed for final passage. All Councilmen'ij I
