Motion by Hawn, seconded by Davis that the reports be received and placed on file. .A recommendation from the City Planning Commission for the acquisition of ~ additional property South of the Amazon and West of the present swimming pool : site was submitted and re€!d as follows: i I ,"At a meeting of the City Planning C,omrnission held May 22, 1945, the secre- tary was instructed to forward to the Council a recommendation of ,the City Planning Commis,sion that the Ci ty ,should acquire a three cornered tract of four acres for about $800.00 to be used in conjunction with the swimming pool for parking space ; and for a spa ce for a wading pool fo~ children. A description of the lands sought to be acquired is: All that portion lying South of the Amazon and West pf the present swimming pool site owned by the F?ir Grounds containing approximately four acres." ' Motion by Hawn, seconded by Davis that the City Manager be instructed to go ahead with the matter of purchasing the property in question and that the costs be ; charged against the swimming pool levy fund. Motion c?rried.. , A report of the City Planning Commission relative to application of Mr. i Pendarvis for reclassification was submitted as follows: ; "At a meeting of the City Plann ing Commission held May 22, 1945, the secre- i tary was directed to inform the Common Council that it recommended denial of : Mr. Pendarvis' application for change of classification but would recommend that he : be given a temporary permi t by the Council while he secures his loc a tion." ! I iUpon motion, was ordered placed on file and the recommendations approved; that ;1~. Pendarvis be granted a temporary permit for a period of one year from July 1,1945.
