City Manager and the ,heads of the <br />Fire Department have studied the bids and found that the bid of the American La <br />France Foamite Corporation in the n.et amount of $12,035.87 is the lowest bid sub- <br />mitted. The Committee, therefore, recommends with the concurrence of the Manager <br />and Fire Chief tha.t the bid of the American LaFrance Foamite Corporation be <br />accepted and that a contract to purchase one 1000 gallon American LaFrance Fire <br />Pumper be duly authorized in accordance with the specifications as contained in <br />the bid." <br /> <br />7 <br /> <br />It was moved by Koppe, seconded by Hawn that the report of the Committee be <br />adopted. Motion carried. <br /> <br />The Sewer Committee submitted the following report relative to the <br />basic sewer plan improvement report of Cunningham & Associates, Consulting <br />Engineers. <br /> <br />"Your Committee on Sewers to whom was referred the basic sewer plan <br />i improvement report of Cunningham & Associates, Consulting Engineers, begs to <br />'I report as follows: <br /> <br />j <br />I <br />I <br />i <br /> <br />That we have examined the report and recomme.nd the following: <br /> <br />1. That the propesed project for Area "A" (Chambers-West Moreland <br />District) including installation of approximately,43,?00 feet of sewer pipe, <br />pump house, pumping equipment, etc. ,- be given priority as the. first unit for com- <br />pletion of the Master Sewerage Plan,}and. tha t the Office of the City Manager be <br />authorized to proceed as quickly as possible in seeking preparation of plans and <br />contract documents covering this work in order that bids may be called at the <br />earliest practical date for consideration by the Common Coun.cil.. <br /> <br />2. We recommend tha.t preliminary steps be taken lOOking to the con- <br />structionof a proposed syphon across the Mill Race as per Engineer's plans and <br />specifications in order that this work may be accomplished while the Mill Race <br />Channel is. drained." <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />It was moved by Hawn, seconded by Johnson that the report of the Committee be <br />adopted.
