This levy will be in addition to and in excess of the constitutional 6 per cent limitation upon the City's tax levy. Vote Yes or No. II I, I, Ii I I'; I;~ 500 501 Yes No. L I d H i: :'1 ", CHARTER AMENDMENT AN ACT ii iI II I' 'I 'I To amend the Charter of the City of Eugene by adding a new Chapter thereto, authorizing and empowering the Common Council of the City of Eugene, for the purpose of maintaining and supervising the public playgrounds and recreation areaS for said City, to include in its general tax levy each year, such special levy as shall be required, in the jedgment of the Common Council, not to exceed seven tenths of one mill upon the dollar valuation, for the maintenance and super- vision of public playgrounds andrecreation areas for the City of Eugene; All to be in addition to existing levies. I " !! " , I. i; 1'1 I:. THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: I;' I' j" " ,,1 :, Be it Enacted by the Electors of the City of Eugene, Oregon. Section 1. The Common Council of the City of Eugene is hereby author- ized and empowered each year to levy, assess and collect taxes not to exceed seven tenths of one mill upon the dollar valuation, upon all property, both real and personal, within the City of Eugene, not exempt from taxation, for the purpose of maintaining and supervising publiC playgrounds and recreation, areas for said City. Section 2. This levy shall be in, addition to existing levies. Section 3. The money realized by the levy herein provided for shall be deposited and kept in the Playground and Recreation fund. Section 4. That said money shall be disbursed by the Common Council through the public playground commission by warrants drawn by the Council upon said playground fund, said warrant to be signed by the Mayor and City Recorder. Section 5. This levy will be in addition to and in excess of the constitutional 6 per cent limitation upon the City's tax levy. It was moved by Hawn, seconded by Davis that the resolution be adopted.
