REPORTS OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS A report of the Board of..Appeals was submitted and read as follows: "A request was received by the Board of Appeals from Rob't. W. Prescott asking to be allowed a thirty (30) foot setback from University Street and a fifteen (15) foot setback from 20th Avenue at the southwest corner of the inter- section. This is the set-back as specified in the deed restrictio~s, but does not conform with the line-up of the houses constructed in the block. The Board recommends that the request be granted. A request was received from Spear & Jackson Saw Works on Garfield Street north of Sixth Avenue to build an addition on their heat treating building. The present building is constructed of 2 x 6 frame covered with metal. They are asking to be allowed the same construction with a fire retardant wall on the pro- perty line. (The type of fire resistance to be specified by the Building Depart- ment.) The Board recommends that the request be granted. A request was received from Chas. Humphreys asking for a permit to . erect a Quonset type structure on the rear of the lot at Thirteenth and Willamette .~-"Streets to be used as body and paint shop. It will be located at the northeast I: corner of the lot, will have a concrete floor and the 22 feet nearest the alley I, will be concrete block construction. They are asking for a temporary permit as I the building will be on two different leased properties. The Board recommends ~ that a two year permit be granted. i I" Ii i' /' ....4
