t As you know, our large plywood manufacturing plant is located, east of the
" Oregon Electric Railway tracks on- Garfield, Street. Many of our logs are produced
i!
~ in areas West of Eugene and.~ust, of necessity, be trucked in via Eleventh Street.
, In order for these trucks to, deliver, logs to our ,plant" they are required to travel
i south on Eleventh Street to Polk Street.; thence east,. on Polk Street across heavy
Ii traffic on Seventh, Street to. Sixth., Street; thence north on Sixth Stre'et to Garfield;
:1 thence east to our plant on Garfield Street. Also many of our employees living
~ West of Eleventh Street are required to follow this same route in order to travel
!i to our plan,t,.

ii We believ.e it would be to the best interest of the city, and to the people
i as a whole, if Garfield Street was improved and opened for travel between Seventh
i! Street and Eleventh Street, thereby permitting log trucks and employees of our own,
~ as well as others, easy ingress from Eleventh Street to the various plants on
II Garfield Street.
