<br /> :, "WHEREAS, the City owns $90,000.00 of Series L, Uni ted States Department of :!
<br /> Treasury Certificates of Indebtedness at 7/8% interest, which'mature on December 1, i

<br /> VffiEREAS, it is expected that the Department of the Treasury will, during the ..
<br /> month of November, and prior to maturity of said certificates~ offer to refund a ~.

<br /> WREREAS, -it is to the public interests of the City tha t any such offer be I; I
<br /> accepted immediately;

<br /> Oregon, that it is deemed expe~ient by the Common Council that a public alley "
<br /> extending East and West between 8th Avenue West and Bro?dway, from Van Buren ~:
<br /> Street to Tyler Street be opened to a width of feet, ana that the City
<br /> Engineer is therefore directed, by him or some competent surveyor, to make a I
<br /> survey of such alley opening and to make the boundaries thereof and to make a
<br /> plat of the same and a written report containing a full and complete description
<br /> of such alley opening, and the boundaries thereof, and any lot or tract or portion "
<br /> thereof to be appropriated therefor, and to file and same with the Recorder of the t~
<br /> City of Eugene within twenty days fr~m the date of this Resolution unless further I
<br /> time shall be granted therefor." "

<br /> 26 retention of certain over-age employees for a period of one year, beginning

<br /> request for the retention of the following employes and that the State Pension and
<br /> Retirement System be so advised of the Council's action.
