Hawn and Johnson absent. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br /> <br />11 <br /> <br />A report of the Board of Appeals was submitted and read as follows: <br /> <br />"A meeting of the Board of Appeals was held Friday, January 9, 1948 at <br />5:00 P.M. in the office of the Building Dept. <br /> <br />The petition of Walter L. Burkhardt, of 1294i Horn Lane for a permit to <br />add two bathrooms to his property at 892 West 5th was considered. The Board <br />recommends that the petition be granted. <br /> <br />The petition of Leslie A. Wilson, 2650 University St. for a permit to erect <br />a laundry building on his property at the above address, was read and considered. <br /> <br />Inasmuch as this is a single family residence zone the Board recommends that <br />the petition be denied. <br /> <br />The petition of the Pacific Telephone & Telegraph Co. for a modification of <br />sprinkler requirements for the basement of their new addition was read and con- <br />sidered. As they wish to send a representative from Portland to present additional <br />data, they have been notified that the matter will be presented to the Council for <br />action on January 26, 1948." <br /> <br />It was moved by Davis, seconded by Crumbaker that the report of the Board be <br />received and placed on file and that the recommendations contained therein be <br />approved. Motion carried. <br /> <br />PETITIONS AND C01%roNICATIONS' <br /> <br />A communication from Percy W. Brown re: financial records of the City of <br />12 Eugene was submitted and read as follows: <br /> <br />"This is to certify that the financial records of the City of Eugene have <br />been audited for the quarter ending September 30, 1947, and all moneys and pro- <br />perties have been properly accounted for." <br /> <br />It was moved by Davis, seconded by Allen that the communication be received and <br />placed on file. Motion carried. <br /> <br />13 <br /> <br />A petition signed by Mrs. Amelia Bennett requesting the reclassification of <br />the Northwest corner of Lot 6, Block 17, Fairmount Addition (1711 Columbia St.") <br />from R-l (Single Family Residence) to R-3 (Multiple Family Residence), was <br />submitted. <br /> <br />It was moved by Davis, seconded by Wells that the petition be received and be <br />referred to the Planning Commission for report and recommendation.
