<br />A Resolution - Transmitting to the Planning Commission various applications
<br />for rezoning was submitted and read as follows:

<br />"BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Eugene, Oregon, that
<br />there is hereby transmitted to the City Planning Commission of said City, the
<br />following petitions for rezoning of property in said City, to-wit:

<br />The West 9.2 feet of Lot 7 and the East 15.8 feet of Lot 6, all in
<br />Block Three (3), Packards Addition to Eugene, Lane County, Oregon.
<br />Property located at 271 West 7th Avenue.
<br />Requested change from R-2 (Multiple Family) to 1-2 (Light Industrial)
<br />classification.

<br />MRS. O. L. DOLYNOOK:
<br />East 45 feet of Lot 2 and the East 45 feet of the North 35 feet
<br />of Lot 3 of Cheshire Addition to Eugene, Lane County, Oregon.
<br />Property located at 558 West First Avenue, Eugene.
<br />Requested change from R-l (Single Family) to R-2 (Apartment)
<br />classification.

<br />and directing the Planning Commission to adopt a tentative report and to hold a
<br />hearing thereon in the Council Chambers in the City Hall of said City on Tuesday,
<br />March 2, 1948 at 7:30 o'clock P.M., after giving due notice by publication once
<br />in the Eugene Register Guard, and in case of favorable report of said request, a
<br />hearing is hereby called to be held at the City Hall at the next ensuing regular
<br />Council meeting, commencing at 7:30 P.M., notice of which shall be given three
<br />times in the Eugene Register-Guard."

<br />It was moved by Davis, seconded by Crumbaker that the resolution be adopted.

<br />A Resolution - Re: Opening of 24th Avenue from Alder to Harris Streets was
<br />25 submitted and read as follows:
<br />
<br />" In the matter of the proposed opening of twenty-fourth Avenue from Alder
<br />to Harris Street in the City of Eugene, Oregon.
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Eugene, by Resolution duly adopted
<br />September 8, 1947, determined to open, layout and establish Twenty-fourth Avenue
<br />from Alder Street to Harris Street in the City of Eugene, Oregon; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the report and plat of the City Engineer for the opening of said
<br />street was duly made and filed and thereafter duly adopted by the Common Council
<br />by Ordinance No. 9076 passed by the Common Council November 10, 1947, and approved
<br />by the Mayor on November 11, 1947; and
<br />
<br />VlliEREAS, the viewers duly appointed by said Ordinance made and filed a report
<br />of their findings of benefits and damages to the property benefitted and property
<br />damaged by the proposed opening of said street; and

<br />vY.HEREAS, after due notice of the consideration of said report the same was
<br />duly adopted by Ordinance No. 9076, and which was passed by the Common Council on
<br />November 10, 1947, and approved by the Mayor on November 11, 1947; and
<br />
<br />VffiEREAS, the damages sustained by the taking of property in said street
<br />opening belonging to Harlow E. Hudson and Kathryn K. Hudson was fixed in the
<br />amount of $80.00, and the balance of the property taken being owned by the City
<br />of Eugene for which no payment would be made, and
<br />

<br />WHEREAS the benefits sustained by the opening of said street having been
<br />assessed against the ~roperty being owned by Perry H. Walbridge and Rachel Wal-
<br />bridge in the sum of ~44.98; Cladis E. Krause and Andrew Krause in the sum of
<br />$7.77; Portland Mortgage Co. in the sum of $19.03; and Harlow E. Hudson and
<br />Kathryn K. Hudson in the sum of $8.22; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, no objections to said Report of the Viewers have been filed and the
<br />time for appeal has now expired,
<br />
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Eugene
<br />that the following desc'ribed property, being the property described in said
<br />Engineer's Report and the Ordinance adopting the Viewer's Report, to-wit:
