ON THE SECOND
SUNDAY IN MAY AND CONTINUING TO AND TERMINATING AT 1:59 A.M. ON THE SECOND SUNDAY IN
SEPTEMBER. IT IS TO BE NOTED HOWEVER, THAT THE ACT ADOPTED BY THE VOTERS OF PORTLAND DOES
PROVIDE THAT THE COMMISSION OF THAT CITY MAY ALTER OR ABATE DAYLIGHT SAVING BY ORDINANCE IF
THE COMMISSION IS TO JUDGE IT ACTION TO BE IN THE BEST INTEREST OF THE CITY.

MY ADVICE FROM THE CITY OF SEATTLE STATES THAT A PROPOSITION ADOPTED BY THE VOTERS OF
THAT CITY ESTABLISHES DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME BEGINNING JUNE I, 1949 AND ENDING AT MIDNIGHT
SEPTEMBER 30TH EACH YEAR HEREAFTER.

THIS FOR YOUR INFORMATION."

IT WAS MOVED BY HAWN, SECONDED BY DAVIS THAT THE REPORT OF THE CITY MANAGER BE RECEIVED AND
PLACED ON FILE AND THAT FURTHER ACTION IN THE MATTER OF ESTABLISHING DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME BE HELD
IN ABEYANCE, PENDING ACTION BY THE OREGON STATE lEGISLATURE.
