<br />IN RESPONSE TO THE LETTER rROM THE UNIVERSITY, THE PARK BUREAU INSPECTED THE SITE
<br />.'TH MEMBERS rROM THE STATE 80ARD or HEALTH AND lANE COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT AND rOUND
<br />THE rOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS WERE NECESSARY AS STATED IN THE LETTER DATED APRIL 10, 1950
<br />rROM THE STATE BOARD or HEALTH AND ENCLOSED WITH THIS REPORT:
<br />
<br />I. THE BOTTOM or THE POOL SHOULD BE REPLACED OR COVERED WITH rRESH CONCRETE
<br />TO MAKE A SMOOTH SUR~ACE rREE rROM CRACKS AND CREVICES. THE POOL WALLS SHOULD
<br />BE PATCHED WHERE NECESSARY AND THE WHOLE INTERIOR PAINTED WITH A LIGHT COLORED
<br />PAINT.
<br />2. THE DECKS SHOULD BE SHORED UP TO MAKE IT STRUCTURALLY SArE AND SHOULD BE
<br />RECOVERED WITH A NON-SLIP IMPERVIOUS MATERIAL. THE rENCE AROUND THE DECK
<br />SHOULD BE REPAIRED.
<br />3. A HOT WATER SYSTEM 'CAPABLE or SUPPLYING surrlCIENT HOT WATER rOR SHOWERS

<br />SHOULD BE INSTAL~ED.
<br />4. A CHLORINATOR SHOULD BE INSTALLED ON THE RECIRCULATION SYSTEM AND TESTINO
<br />EQUIPMENT rOR CHLORINE AND PH SHOULD BE PROVIDED.
<br />5. AN ANGLE STREAM DRINKING rOUNTAIN SHOULD BE INSTALLED.
<br />6. THE BATH HOUSE SHOULD BE PAINTED ANO REPAIRED AND THE PLUMBING PUT IN ORDER.
<br />DRESSING ROOM rACILITIES ARE SMALL. Ir PERMANENT OPERATION IS CONTEMPLATED.
<br />THE DRESSING ROOM rACILITIES SHOULD BE ENLARGED.
<br />7. THE rlLTER APPEARED TO BE IN GOOD CONDITION AT THE TIME or INSPECTION, BUT
<br />IT SHOULD BE BORNE IN MIND THAT IT IS or TEMPORARY CONSTRUCTION. THE RECIRCU-
<br />LATION PUMP WAS NOT INSPECTED BUT IT SHOULD BE EXAMINED AND PUT IN GOOD
<br />CONDITION BErORE THE POOL IS PUT INTO OPERATION.
