<br />ACREAGE ABUTTING THE THOMPSON PROPERTY ON THE NORTH. IT WAS RECOMMENDED THAT THE CITY
<br />AGAIN OFFER MR. THOMPSON $3,800 FOR THIS PROPERTY AS IT WAS BROUGHT OUT THAT THIS IS
<br />THE LAST PIECE OF PROPERTY NECESSARY IN THIS AREA TO COMPLETE THE LONG PROJECTED SOUTH
<br />AMAZON P~RK DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM. THIS PROGRAM HAS BEEN UNDERWAY FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS
<br />THROUGH THE ACQUISITION OF PROPERTIES THROUGHOUT THIS AREA BY THE GATEWAYS ASSO~IATION,
<br />CENTURY FUND, SCHOOL DISTRICT #4, AND THE CITY OF EUGENE, THROUGH THEIR COORDINATED
<br />EFFORTS, ALL OF THIS PROPERTY HAS BEEN ACCUMULATED FOR EI~HER SCHOOL PURPOSES, PARK
<br />AND RECREATIONAL PURPOSES OR STREET DEVEL.QPMENT, EXCEP,T ,THIS ONE REMAINING TRACT
<br />OWNED BY MR. THOMPSON. IT WAS FELT THAT THE ABOVE MENTIONED PRICE OF $3,800 IS A FAIR
<br />PRICE FOR THIS GROUND.

<br />AND SKATING RINKS WITH 'THE RECOMMENDATION THAT THE ORDINANCE AS REVISED, BE SUBMITTED'
<br />TO THE COUNCIL FOR FINAL APPROVAL.

<br />THIS COMMlrTEE MET WITH MEMBERS OF THE FAIR BOARD ON WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 6TH TO
<br />REVIEW THE PROPOSED BUI'LDING PROGRAM AT THE FAIRGR6UNDS. IT WAS iBROUGHT OUT AT THAT
<br />MEETING THAT THE FAIR BOARD WOULD HAVE THE RIGHT TO MAKE ALTERATIONS OR CONSTRUCT NEW
<br />BUILDINGS FOR FAIR PURPOSES ONLY IN ACCORDANCE WITH STATE LAWS, BUT THAT ANY OTHER
<br />USES OR FURTHER DEVELOPMENT IN CONNECTION WITH THE HOUSING OF LIVESTOCK ON ~ ~EAR
<br />AROUND BASIS WAS SUBJECT TO THE ZONING ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF EUGENE. IT WAS
<br />BROUGHT OU~ THAT ~ERHAPS THIS WOULD BE A GOOD TI~E TO MEET WITH THE MEMBERS OF THE
<br />FAIR BOARD, COUNTY COURT AND CITY COUNCIL IN AN ENDEAVOR ~O ESTABLISH A LO~G RANGE
<br />PROGRAM FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF ADEQUATE FAIRGROUND FACILITIES FOR THIS AREA.
