MRS. STONE WISHES TO UTILIZE THIS l:OT FOR MORE ROOM FOR THE <br />SERVICE STATION IN CONNECTION WITH OFF-STREET PARKING AND FOR THE PARKING OF CARS LEFT <br />AT THE SERVICE STATION FOR SERVICE. THIS LOT IS IN THE R-4, MULTIPLE FAMILY DISTRICT <br />ACROSS fROM THE SACRED HE-ART HOSPI TAL 'AND I_S A RATHER CONGESTED AREA RELATI VE TO PARKI NG <br />AND TRAfFIC. <br /> <br />IT WAS RECOMMENDED THAT 'THE COUNCIL GRANT A VARIANCE TO MRS. STONE ON THE BASIS OF <br />HER REQUEST TO UTILIZE THIS LOT IN CONNECTION WITH HER SERVICE STATI'ON AND FOR PARKI'NG <br />PURPOSES. <br /> <br />3., THE FOLLOWING IMPROVEMENT PETITIONS WERE RECOMMENDED FOR APPROVAL: <br /> <br />OPENING ELINOR fROM MASONIC CEMETERY TO 27TH - 83.30% REQUESTING IMPROVEMENT. <br />PAVING MADISON FROM 13TH 'AVE. W. TO FAIRGROUNDS - 79.6% REQUESTING IMPROVEMENT. <br /> <br />4. IN CONNECTION WITH THE PETITION FOR THE PAVING OF 28TH AVENUE FROM UNIVERSITY TO <br />EMERALD STREET,I r WAS SUGGESTE'D THAT PROPERTY OWNERS BE CONTACTED ON 28TH AVENUE FROM <br />UNIVERSITY TO HILYARD STREET TO SEE IF THEY WOULD DESIRE TO HAVE THE PAVING EXTEND CLEAR <br />THROUGH FROM HILYARD TO EMERALD. IT WAS ALSO BROUGHT OUT THAT THE A~UTi'NG PROPERTY ON <br />3HE SOUTH OF 28TH BETWEEN BAKER AND EMERALD WAS OUTSIDE Of THE CITY LIMITS AND THAT THE <br />PROPERTY'OWNERS (LAURELWOODGOLF COURSE) SHOULD BE CON'TACTED IN CONNECTION WITH, THEIR <br />ASSESSMENT FOR THIS STREET IMPROVEMENT. <br /> <br />5., THE C'ITY MANAGER ADVISED THAT S. A. ,TYLER OWNS THE HOUSE AND LOT AT 2400 UNIVERSITY <br />STREET. THIS LOT IS 50 FEET FACING UNIV~RSITY AND 215 FEET DEE~ LYING IMMEDIATELY SOUTH <br />OF UNIVERSITY PARK AND IN THE MIDDLE OF 24TH AVENUE B€TWEEN UNI~ERSIJY AND HARRIS. MR. <br />AND MRS. TYLER ARE PUTTING THIS PROPERTY UP FOR SALE AT A PRICE OF $6,250.00 AND WISH TO <br />RETAIN OCCUPANCY UNTIL JULY I, 1953. INASMUCH A~ THIS IS NEEDED RIGHT OF WAY FOR THE <br />OPENING OF 24TH AVENUE, ONE OF THE APPROVED CROSS-TOWN STREETS, IT WAS RECOMMENDED THAT <br />I <br />THE EITY ACQUIRE THIS PROPERTY IMMEDIATELY AT THE ABOVE PRICE.
