THORNTON ADDRESSED TO SENATOR <br />HOWARD C. BELTON ADVISING THAT THE STATE BOARD OF HIGHER EDUCATION COULD CONTRACT WITH THE <br />CITIES OF EUGENE AND CORVALLIS FOR EXPENSES IN CONNECTION WITH THE CONSTRUCTION, OPERATION <br />AND MAINTENANCE OF A SEWAGE SYSTEM. THIS WAS THE RESULT OF LEGISLATIVE ENDEAVORS OF THE <br />CITIES OF EUGENE AND CORVALLIS TO EFFECT ENABLING ACTS AND APPROPRIATIONS PROVIDING MORE <br />EQUITABLE PAYMENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY AND OREGON STATE COLLEGE FOR THEIR TRUNK LINE SEWERS <br />AND SEWAGE TREATMENT FACILITIES. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />THE CITY MANAGER ADVISED THAT A LICENSE FOR FIVE ADDITIONAL CABS HAD BEEN ISSUED TO <br />THE DELUXE RADIO CAB COMPANY, UPON THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE CHIEF OF POLICE AND PUBLIC <br />SAFETY COMMITTEE AS OUTLINED UNDER ORDINANCE #9771. THIS BRINGS TOTAL CABS IN THE CITY <br />OF EUGENE TO 2j, INCLUDING 12 FOR DELUXE; ONE AIRPORT LIMOUSINE; FOUR FOR TERMINAL CAB~ <br />COMPANY AND SIX FOR YELLOW CAB COMPANY. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />IT WAS MOVED BY BOOTH, SECONDED BY GODLOVE, AND UPON ROLLCALL VOTE, THE COUNCIL <br />UNANIMOUSLY CONFIRMED THE PURCHASE OF 2.7 ACRES OWNED BY J. B. THOMPSON IN THE SOUTH AMAZON <br />PARK AREA AT A PRICE OF $5,300.00 FOR PARK DEVELOPMENT PURPOSES. <br /> <br />IT WAS MOVED BY BOOTH, SECONDED BY GODLOVE THAT THE BALANCE OF THE REPORT OF THE CITY <br />MANAGER BE RECEIVED AND PLACED ON FILE.
