COUNCIL BILL 1668, ASSESSING COST Of SEWER IN ALLEY BETWEEN 12TH AND 13TH AND MILL <br />AND FE~RY STREETS - THE SITE Of THIS PROJECT WAS VISITED BY THE COMMITTEE PRIOR TO THE <br />JANUARY 11TH MEETING. THE PROCEDURE Of THE PROJECT WAS REVIEWED AS WELL AS THE OBJECTIONS <br />THAT WERE fiLED. <br /> <br />A POINT WAS RAISED BY MR. SIEGENTHALER CONCERNING THE SITUATION Of MR. 'HAMMER, A <br />PROPERTY OWNER ON MILL STREET. HE INDICATED THAT THE INfORMATION THAT HE HAS IS THAT <br />THE SEWER IS 8-1/2 TO 9 f€ET DEEP ALONG MR. HAMMER'S PROPERTY AND THAT MR. HAMMER'S <br />BASEMENT IS TOO DEEP TO BE SERVED BY A GRAVITY fLOW INTO THE SEWER. HIS BASEMENT IS <br />APPROXIMATELY THREE fEET LOWER THAN THE OTHER BASEMENTS ALONG HIS STREET. THIS WAS <br />NOTED BY THE COMMITTEE BUT IT WAS fELT THAT IT DID NOT AffECT THE EQUITY Of THE ASSESS- <br />MENT. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />IT IS THE RECOMMENDATION Of THE COMMITTEE THAT COUNCIL BILL 1668 BE GIVEN APPROVAL <br />fOR fiNAL READING AND PASSAGE. <br /> <br />2. COUNCIL BILL 1682 - RELATING TO OffENSES INVOLVING ALCOHOLIC LIQUOR AND REPEALING <br />ORDINANCE No. 9886. THIS PROPOSED ORDINANCE WAS READ AND REVIEWED BY THE COMMITTEE AND <br />IT IS THE RECOMMENDATION Of THE COMMITTEE THAT IT BE APPROVED fOR PASSAGE. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />3. COUNCIL BILL 1684 - REVISING fiRE ZONES. THE COUNCIL BILL REVISING THE fiRE ZONES <br />TO CONfORM TO CHANGES IN LAND USE ZONES WAS BROUGHT ON FOR DISCUSSION. VARIOUS <br />ADMINISTRATIVE OffiCIALS, THE BUILDING INSPECTOR, FIRE CHIEf AND FIRE MARSHALL, WERE <br />HEARD ON THE SUBJECT. IT IS THE RECOMMENDATION Of THE COMMITTEE THAT THE COUNC~L BILL <br />BE AMENDED CLASSifYING C-3P ZONE fROM FIRE ZONE TWO TO FIRE ZONE ONE, AND THAT THE <br />COUNC I L BI LL, AS AMENDED, BE APPROVED' AND GI VEN FINAL PASSAGE. <br /> <br />4. AMENDMENT TO ORDINANCE 10278 PERTAINING TO REGULATION Of TELEVISION EQUIPMENT <br />INSTALLATION. - THE PROPOSAL TO AMEND THE BASIC TELEVISION ORDINANCE TO REQUIRE PERMITS <br />AND INSPECTIONS fOR ALL TELEVISION ANTENNAE INSTALLATIONS WAS CONSIDERED. IT WAS THE <br />CONSIDERED OPINION OF THE COMMITTEE THAT THIS AMENDMENT WAS NECESSARY fOR THE PUBLIC <br />GOOD AND THEREfORE RECOMMENDS THAT THE PROPOSED AMENDMENT BE APPROVED AND PASSED." <br /> <br />4, <br />. . <br /> <br />IT WAS MOVED BY SIEGENTHALER, SECONDED BY GODLOVE THAT THE REPORT OF THE PUBLIC SAFETY <br />COMMITTEE BE ADOPTED. REQUEST Of BROADWAY AND CHARNELTON INC. fOR RELOCATION Of ALLEY - THIS REQUEST WAS <br />AGAIN CONSIDERED BY THE PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE AND THE PLANS AND SKETCHES WERE REVIEWED. <br /> <br />IT IS THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE COMMITTEE THAT A REVOCABLE PERMIT BE GRANTED TO <br />THE BROADWAY & CHARNEL TON COMPANY INC. FOR INSTALLATION OF A SIX FOOT WALK IN THE ALLEY <br />ADJACENT TO THE NORTH SIDE OF THE BUILDING fOR A DISTANCE Of APPROXIMATELY 123 fEET <br />FROM THE PROPERTY LINE ON CHARNELTON STREET AND FOR A SIX FOOT BY 24 FOOT MARQUEE OVER <br />THE ENTRANCE Of THE BUILDING, PROVIDED THAT: <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />(A) A SIX FOOT EASEMENT ALONG THE NORTH OF THE ALLEY BE GRANTED AND REMAIN IN <br />fORCE. <br /> <br />(B) CURB CUT' Off CHARNELTON STREET BE THE SAME WIDTH AS THE DISTANCE FROM THE <br />NORTH SIDE Of THE SIX fOOT WALK AND THE NORTH EDGE OF THE SIX FOOT EASEMENT <br />AND BE IN LINE WITH THESE NORTH AND SOUTH EDGES Of THE ALLEYWAY. <br /> <br />(C) PARKING BE PROHIBITED IN THE SOUTHEAST CORNER OF THE PARKING LOT TO PERMIT <br />FREE MOVEMENT OF ALLEY TRAFFIC. <br /> <br />(D) BROADWAY & CHARNEL TON, INC.
