<br />THE MEMBERS OF THE ABOVE COMMITTEES MET ON MARCH 31ST TO DISCUSS A NUMBER OF ITEMS
<br />OF CITY BUSINESS. AMONG THESE WAS THE SUBJECT OF A PROPOSED ANNEXATION ELECTION OF A
<br />PORTION OF THE BETHEL WATER DISTRICT.

<br />WITH THE BOARD OF THE BETHEL WATER DISTRICT. THE PURPOSE OF THE MEETING WAS TO ANSWER
<br />CERTAIN QUESTIONS OF THE BOARD OONCERNING WATER SERVICE AND FIRE SERVICE TO THE BETHEL
<br />WATER DISTRICT IN THE ~VENT OF ANNEXATION OF ANY PORTION OF THE DISTRICT.

<br />MR. KOPPE INDICATED THAT THE BOARD MEMBERS STATED THAT THEIR QUESTIONS WERE ANSWERED
<br />AT THIS MEETING, AND THAT THEY WERE SATISFIED REGARDING THEIR CONCERN FOR FIRE AND WATER
<br />SERVICE TO THE ENTIRE BETHEL WATER DISTRICT AND THE ZUMWALT FIRE DISTRICT IN, THE EVENT OF
<br />AN ANNEXATI ON.

<br />IT WAS ALSO STATED THAT THE BOUNDARIES OF THE AREA BEING PROPOSED FOR ANNEXATION
<br />WERE DISCUSSED AT BOTH THE MARCH 29TH MEETING AND THE PREVI~US MEETING WITH THE BOARD
<br />MEMBERS, AND THAT THEY APPEARED TO BE IN GENERAL AGREEMENT WITH THE AREA.

<br />IT IS THE FEELING OF THE MEMBERS OF THE COMMITTEES PRESENT THAT THERE WAS A DEFINITE
<br />INDICATION AT THE LAST ELECTION THAT THE MAJORITy OF THE VOTERS OF THE AREA IN QUESTION
<br />DESIRE TO ANNEX. ALSO, THAT THE OBJECTIONS TO ANNEXATION OF A PORTION OF THE AREA ~AVE
<br />B~EN ANSWERED.

<br />IT IS THEREFORE THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE COMMITTEES THAT THE COMMON COUNCIL TAKE
<br />IMMEDIATE ACTION TO INITIATE AN ANNEXATION ELECTION,OFTHE PORTION QF THE BETHEL WATER
<br />DISTRICT AS RECOMMENDED BY THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION."
