<br />DURING THE MONTH OF MARCH 1959 AMOUNTED TO $597,192 WHICH IS $132,047 MORE THAN

<br />ACCORDING TO THE POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORT, A COpy OF WHICH IS ON EACH OF
<br />YOUR DESKS, THE SEMI-ANNUAL REGIONAL TRAINING SCHOOLS WERE COMPLETED DURING
<br />THE MONTH, WITH A TOTAL OF 308 CLASSROOM HO~RS BEING ATTENDED BY MEMBERS OF
<br />OUR DEPARTMENT. Two NEW OFFICERS CONTINUED THEIR IN-SERVICE TRAINING, SPEND-
<br />ING 136 HOURS OF CLASSROOM WORK AND 84 HOURS OF FIELD TRAINING. ROLLCALL
<br />TRAINING IS BEING CONTINUED ON A DAILY SHIFT BASIS. ALSO, GENERAL CRIMINAL
<br />ACTIVITIES AND JUVENILE ACTIVITIES INCREASED CONSIDERABLY DURING THE MONTH;
<br />HOWEVER, THE AVERAGE DAILY POPULATION AT THE JAIL WAS 54, THE SAME AS THE
<br />PRECEDING MONTH.
